Pressure fighter vs pure boxer. On paper certainly the styles advantage goes to Beterbiev. But Ward is the more proven fighter with a history of wins over top level fighters.
Ward isn't going anywhere near that fight, believe me he knows what would to happen to him. He's getting the hell out of the light heavyweight division and moving to cruiser weight.
What has Bummerbiev ever done in his career that suggests he comes anywhere near beating Ward? This thread is beyond DUMB..
He'd batter your boy black and blue. He wouldn't be able to get away with fouling on the inside, since Beterbeve who has a wrestling background, knows how to deal with such a thuggery.
Kovalev won the first fight. Ward was the better man in the second fight even though he resorted to fouling. And no I never said Kovalev had a wrestling background, I said he'd beat Ward which he did.
Kovalev faired pretty well the first fight I'd say. Regardless, completely different styles. Kovalev is boxer puncher. Beterbiev is a pressure fighter.
I agree that I thought the first fight could have gone either way. I think Ward would have an easier time with the "pressure fighter" Beterbiev than Kovalev but that is just my opinion.
It certainly is, however Ward is only going to fight Bellew not any other top 6 guys in the division who would literally murder him.
I've always liked Beterbiev in this fight. Ward would have to fight the perfect fight imo and it would have to be on the outside as he'd getting literally manhandled on the inside.
