Yarde got ko’d by a jab vs a shot Kovalev. Everything Beterbiev throws is gonna hurt yarde, won’t be a long fight.
I agree that Beterbiev will stop Yarde but Yarde was knocked out due to exhaustion after Tunde Ajayi told him to "empty the gas tank" in the round before when he was on the verge of stopping Kovalev with a quarter of the fight left.
Yarde's training for the Kovalev bout was an epic fail. He didn't spar at all. He gassed at all once and then got stopped by a fighter who was prone to gas, himself. Hopefully Yarde has learned the lesson. But even if he has, Beterbiev is - and should be - a heavy favorite. He'll need Artur to get old overnight to have any chance. Of course, Artur will have turned 38 just a week before this bout - but I don't see him fading before the championship rounds and I don't see this fight lasting that long.
Beterbiev hurts people like Yarde and his body builder body looks like he should hurt people. At some point, sooner rather than later, Beterbiev is going to age but this isn't the time. I will take the transplanted Russian by mid-round KO.
Yes Yarde was KO'd by a Kovalev jab but Beterbiev has been put down by lesser punchers and lesser finishers than Yarde. My pick is Beterbiev by KO but I'm expecting an explosive encounter.
What has Yarde done since losing to Kovalev that he deserves another title shot? Beterbev wrecks him anyway but still...he doesn't deserve another title shot. He has beaten one Top 20 guy since losing to Kovalev which was the guy he lost to before - Lyndon Arthur. This is pathetic. Hopefully Beterbiev KO1.
Beterbiev easy stoppage win. He needs to get this fight over with so we can finally see the fight that matters the most .
After the victory over Oleksandr Gvozdyk (the best victory of his career), Artur Beterbiev did not have a worthy opponent. Marcus Browne was lucky enough to cut Artur Beterbiev (accidentally or on purpose), so the fight only looked more uncertain. Anthony Yarde belongs to the group of such fights and fighters. I don't expect much resistance from Anthony Yarde.
