Just a simple poll. I doubt either will be inthe running for FOTY (probably GGG or Kovalev takes this IMO) But who do you think had the better year in the ring out of the two great rivals? PAC - avenged his defeat and scored a lopsided win against an undefeated P4P contender in Bradley, then later another lopsided win over another undefeated, yet unheralded opponent in Algieri. FLOYD - went into the trenches and pulled out a gritty victory over a dangerous opponent in a seemingly rejuvenated Maidana, and showed extra depth to his ****nal by beating him at his own game. Then, rematched the man that caused him so much trouble and did it more convincingly. Thoughts?
Pacquiao. The Maidana fights were a farce. Mayweather looked like **** in the first fight and just ran around the ring in the second fight.
pac beat the best welterweight not named floyd and took on a pretty unworthy opponent in algieri floyd took on maidana twice because the first fight was close. bradley gets pac over the win fairly convincingly
Pacquiao no doubt about it.he beat bradley p4p number 3 an elite welterweight then pac beat algieri an undefeated world champion.duckweather jr lost against maidana the first time despite maidana being handicapped and his power which is the only thing he had taken away by wearing those pillow gloves.
Pacquiao, He fought 2 boxers in Bradley & Algieri that both has great lateral movement and can box, It's a tougher task than fighting Maidana who just comes straight at you with no head movement and is flat footed but somehow Mayweather struggled in the first fight. Mayweather should fight a boxer with speed and has great foot work, last time was against Judah back in 06 and though Mayweather has fought these ''champions'' they are tailor made for him Maidana 2x, Guerrero, Drained Plodder in Alvarez etc.
Closer than either side will care to admit (Maidana with Garcia in his corner and having fully grown into welter is extremely dangerous, which haters of Mayweather will downplay; Algieri is a very resilient and elusive fox of an opponent, not easy to catch flush as often as Pacquiao did with power shots and drop - however many of the knockdowns you may feel were legit - and Bradley II was another fine display of classic Manny being Manny and being effective, which haters of Pacquiao will downplay) but Pacquiao.
Manny.. Last year I think it was Mayweather but this year it has to be Manny just off the Bradley win alone even.
