To be fair, the forum was apparently undecided over 16 pages about whether a random poster named Johnny B could beat Sharkey, so this would be no great accomplishment on Bowe's part.

A lot of Preems win- (Not Sharkey) are “whether you want to believe it” situations. I will address the fact you have cited Sharkey as the best win of Carnera’s resume and you think that’s the zenith of his achievements a man who would go 2-4-1 in his last six bouts losing to overmatched journeyman- Jack was coming to the end of the road unlike Holyfield who were meant to believe was in bad shape based on word of mouth and a loss to an ATG? He went on to have his career defining win and regain the title.

While Janitor still un-ironically believes Carnera is better the war isn’t over.

It is fairly well documented that Holyfield had hepatitis when he fought Bowe.

Bowe was given very little credit for the win at the time, but some people have come to see it differently.

So let's get down to brass tacks.

Depending on what you think Holyfield brought into the ring that day, you might conclude that a win over Jack Sharkey, who was after all still the champion, deserves the #2 spot on their combined resume.

This will boil down to nothing talking about the 2# angle. Let’s talk facts. Prime Holyfield is tiers above Sharkey- the gap is enormous in quality with those wins.

End of the line Sharkey who goes on to lose King Lev in his very next fight a journeyman... is leagues below the best of Holyfield, yes?

I think the quality needs to be stated between the pair with that win. It’s a much, much higher quality win a 5/5 star ordeal and the #2 win over Jack is like a 2/5 just to display the true disparity rather then 1,2 can we settle on that?

OK so depending upon what you think Holyfield had left, and perhaps what you think Sharkey had left, we have either:

    1. Holyfield 1
    2. Holyfield 3
    3. Sharkey 2

    Or:

    1. Holyfield 1
    2. Sharkey 2
    3. Holyfield 3

I think that once we get past Holyfield, Bowe's resume is going to start to thin out a bit.

His next best win on paper is Golotta, and that is going to open a can of worms.

    Lets talk 1-2 first.
    It goes like this.
    1-Prime Evander
    -
    -
    -
    -
    -
    2-End of the line Sharkey

Unless you think they are of a similar quality? I think you should agree on the tier placement unless you want to open another can of worms?

Bowe's first win over Holyfield, is one of the best in heavyweight history.

The quality of his best single win, has never really been his problem.

The problem his his reliance on that single win/opponent.

So you agree with my point. So Bowe has one of the best wins of all time at HW. Primo Carnera has wins over who? I’d like his five best wins for you to put up Jan.
