At this point, has this months-long debate started going in circles, or are the combatants still digging up new and interesting ammo?

In my defense, I just came back very recently, and the first thing I see is the wreckage left by a year long war about Primo Carnera of all people. Can't blame me for a little curiosity.

Has he become the new Jack Johnson?

This debate shouldn't even be a debate let alone 82 pages. Its ridiculous no its beyond ridiculous. So many good posts I see getting almost no action yet mention the name Carnera and this happens. Sad

The new Jack Johnson is still the old Jack Johnson.

I've no idea what the new Primo is...if i had to guess it's an area of disagreement because he's a SHW from a bygone era - and proving he was as good as Lewis etc. could be damaging to one side and of huge value to the other side.

    "Sides" haha.

I'm surprised that one or both sides haven't opened up a new front in the war over Willard...

I was just wondering tonight when will we see the next spate of Johnson threads? Or to be more truthful, I was really wondering when I will be entertained by the next McVea v Mendoza throw down?

Hit him in the jaw and broke his ankle. Didn't Baer also knock out his son?

This is an important issue that must be settled once and for all. It would be an injustice to boxing.....nay.... humanity....to allow people to walk around thinking in any way, shape or form that Riddick Bowe was the equal or peer of the great, his eminence and heavyweight champion of the world Primo Carnera!!!!

Now you think on those things! You wouldn't want your great great great great grandchildren living in a world where they have been deceived into believing that Bowe>>>>Carnera, would you??? What a terrible world that would be!

The only equivalents I can remember for this level of contention are the Jack Johnson grudge matches, and the Revolver vs ESB debates over Marciano, Leonard, and Louis.

The inky blots on the letters F and P can be confused with one another when scanning old newspapers. It does not explain away anything.

107-9-4, we have 8 more votes all for Bowe since the bump.

This is silly and outrageous!!! A disgrace to mankind! The Greatest of all time Primo Carnera at his worst was obviously better than Bowe on the primest night of his prime!!!!

I'm calling on legislation to be introduced that would make it a felony punishable by at least 25 years in the custody of the Federal department of corrections to even imply that Riddick Bowe was better than Primo Carnera! Or execution by stoning! Whichever is more feasible.

    This is serious business, folks.

There’ll always be at least one joker turn up, whenever this thread reappears.

Fortunately, sanity governs the significant majority.
