Um, GOAT Primo would use his superior jab at range to destroy Dempsey, duh.

Why is it a silly thread? Is it because the correct answer is so obvious?

Carnera was definitely the better all around fighter and regularly fought better competition, but Bowe when he was in shape had much better infighting skills

If it is so obvious, then why are we still arguing about it?

Yes Bowe is clearly the superior infighter.

    Taking your points in turn.
I am saying that Carnera was an overachiever, and Bowe was an underachiever.
    Very much so.
    Again yes.
Yes I am also saying that.

You should be asking yourself that question...

But for the record, I was just trying to figure out why exactly he thought the thread was so silly.

The second Sharkey fight was something of a masterclass.

If I wanted to show somebody how a superheavyweight should fight, that is one of the fights I might pick.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I don’t get why you ask all of these questions about Carnera and Marciano thread after thread when your mind is clearly made up about their abilities.

What was the point of the thread if you think Carnera is inferior to Bowe in every way?

Honest question: How do you think the Carnera of the second Sharkey fight would have fared against Evander Holyfield?

You can definitely argue it either way for Carnera, based on the opinions of top fighters and trainers.

The bottom line is that some very credible observers, thought very highly of him!

Fighters and trainers seemed to think more highly of him than journalists.
