unless roy dominates calslappy the way hop did pav HOPKINS IS AHEAD but if jones wins we must see JONES - HOPKINS 2 that will tell u who is really the best

That will tell you who is the best now but not who was the best prime for prime. Prime for prime Roy is all wrong for hopkins and would beat him 7 times out of 10.

As far as legacy goes I think we have to wait until Jones vs Galzage to make that call.

B-Hop was ahead of jones before the Pavlik fight.
After Jones will get his ass kicked by Calzaghe, nobody will remember the good things he ever did.

RJJ is the better talent, BHop made a lot more of what he had with hard work, determination and sheer balls. If you don't respect Hard Nard, you are NOT a boxing fan.

    Its close

Former MW, SMW, LHW and HW champ aswell as a olympic Silver Medalist

    and

Hopkins being the underdog for so long, at age 43 being written off and producing a great victory like that.
Longest reigning MW champion, and LHW champ aswell.

    its tough,
Its the B-Hop story aswell from prison to world champ
    B-Hop in my opinion

resume wise maybe. But to me there will never be another RJJ type fighter. I pick him to beat anyone head to head.

Now, it's Hopkins. Roy's rise through the weights is astonishing, but there's no doubt that he fought some weak fighters. Bernard has just gone for the top guys, sometime's he's lost, sometime's he's shown what a huge gulf in class there is.

To be fair, they're different fighters. Jones peaked at a younger age, Hopkins has just put in his best performance at nearly 44 years of age.

But in my ATG list, Jones is about 15/16th. Hopkins is about 13th-14th now.

Hopefully we won't get PAvlik being put down like Lacy was after the Calzaghe fight. Anyone who knows boxing will know Pavlik was confident last night....Bernard's superior footwork and ring generalship just stopped Pavlik from doing his thing.

Bernard Hopkins is clearly one of the greatest fighters of all time. Trinidad, De La Hoya, Tarver, Pavlik, Winky Wright.

Just some of the great names he has assembled positives from.

20 MW defences. Some less than great opposition, some very, very good indeed.

    Two-weight World champion.

What does everyone else think? Am I overrating B-Hop? I obviously don't think I am but it's open for debate.

    Prime for prime, Roy.

Ability to maintain skills and perhaps ascend with time, B-Hops.

I prefer RJJ because of his beautiful boxing style but no question: Bernard has the better resume right now.

In the first half of their careers, Jones was better, in the second, Hopkins.

I still think Jones winning HW gold triumphs over anything Hopkin's done.

Jones has a chance to redeem himself and pull back ahead against Calzage.
