Both are obviously top notch athletes. However Pac has been known to start training a little later than expected so i would say PBF trains the hardest. I think he has more to lose than Pac. Pac is a fan friendly fighter who is loved by everyone while PBF is a fighter everyone just wants to see lose because of his personality. He cant let those haters win.

Hmmm.....BOth are very good athletes.....I'd have to go with PAC based purely on his incredible progression over the last 8 yrs. And Both train exceptionally hard.....PAC is known for being the hardest working boxer for a reason.

How do you figure Pacquiao trains smarter? Based on what? Floyd has never gotten tired during a fight, there is nothing to suggest that his training regimen lacks in any way, shape, or form.

    1. This isn't a "most improved fighter" award. Floyd shouldn't be penalized just because he's been a complete fighter for so many years.

    2. He is? I thought Floyd was? Floyd's training regimen is the stuff of legend.

I gota giv the edge to floyd. Hes pretty much in a training camp all year round and is a tremendous athlete. Like he says, 'hardwork and dedication,'

Calm down:lol:....No one is penalizing Floyd for being Floyd and having been so complete early. I was just stating that in comparing the two...what attributes they have, the talent, athletic ablity and dyanamics I feel PAC has proven through his evolution that he's always been an incredible athlete. His progression only solidifies this stance for me.

Floyd's training is stuff of legends.....but so is PAC's....even moreso in recent times. His training as been documented and recvied with much amazment.

Mayweather took a year off and said in interviews that his body needed a time to recover.

A small comment, but in light of how he trains, it makes sense.

Training smarter doesnt mean Pac has superior conditioning to Floyd. What it means is that Pacquaio was conditioned using superior methods.

The quantity (time) that Floyd trains is quite extensive. Hours in the gym, lng distance running, very hard jump rope drills. Very old school stuff that is simple, but very hard on the body.

His training is simple, consisting essentially of long term aerobic exercise in combination with sparring, jumping rope, and doing shitloads of calisthenics and basic core work (crunches"

Does Floyd have excellent conditioning? Absolutely.

But his means to getting there is not necessarily the best. Training 5 hours a day is awesome, but if you can do an equal amount of work in 3 hours that conditions the body just as effectively and is more sustainable over the long term, I'll train for 3.

Floyd likely overworked his body, probably part of the reason he retired. His training regimen even to an outside observer seemed excessive. His stamina may be 2nd to none, but I believe he was was overtraining a great deal. At a certain point training for hours and hours is just detrimental, it doesnt make you better.

As he got into his 30's Floyds body would take longer to recover. Training in excess would be become damaging.

Pacquiao on the other hand utilizes High Intensity Interval training for his conditioning needs. This is also in combination with many, many, many hours of intensive sparring and the requisite bag and pad work.

Pacs training regimen involves maximum intensity aerobic and anaerobic drills and circuits that are designed to develop all three of his bodies energy systems, as well as build dense, powerful muscle and maintain flexibility

Does Pac train as much as Floyd? Not necessarily, but he trains just as hard. And his training is superior in both its science and execution.
