Floyd is the ultimate gym rat, he trains all the time.

Pacquiao's motivation is the pride of his country.

Mayweather fights for himself. He is almost delusional in the way he believes in himself. I dont think that line after the mayweather marquez fight when floyd said 'i still have some improving to do' was BS. I think he actually meant that.

Another vid i cant seem to find from the mayweather marquez 24/7 is the one where Floyd and his dad are having a competition of who can jump better rope. Obviously Floyd Jr completely dominates his dad in the competition but it is a useful insight into his mental state. Floyd loves to train, he actually enjoys the pain involved in a harsh training camp.

I believe Mayweather is the better athlete - more natural talent (footwork, reflexes, technique, etc...Floyd makes it looks so easy). Better trainer? I have no clue, they are both equally impressive...

This is the time Floyd had been wanting to fight Cotto but Arum wold not put them in the ring together .. You can see floyd frustration when say cotto can take it to the chin, then lays into the heavy bag. 5:12

LOL:lol:....I see 11 yr old girls doing jump rope like that on ESPN:rofl...Nah...floyd is incredible but just b/c he's good at skipping rope doesn't mean he'll be able to beat Manny. His skills and style will allow him to get by Manny....but it won't be easy by any means.

I'd say Pac is the better athlete because his success and dominance is mainly attributable to his out of this world physical abilities. Floyd, while a gym rat who trains immensely hard, relies more on skills and intelligence to dominate.

pac. pacs duration and intensity of training has him lose so much weight it is the trick he was able to fight in the lower weights longer. floyd couldn't even work himself down into his catchweight with jmm.

floyds jaw training is superior tho, proven by his trash talking.

not sure anyone knows the answer to this since I am guessing not one person on here has seen either train for any period of time...they both seem to be in phenomenal shape and train hard

maybe because floyd is bigger than pac....does hopkins not train cuz he can't get to 160 or 154??? floyds body is an avg if that size ww and has been for a long time...he should not have to work himself to a catchweight...he semed to be in decent shape the JMM fight:deal

    I see it this way.

Pacquiao and mayweather have different types of athleticism and ability but both are equally great in that regard.

Pacquiao uses brute force and explosiveness for nearly all of his movements.

Mayweather uses lightning reflexes and quickness for his movements.

Their respective talents are exemplified in their fighting styles. Mayweather being a pure counter puncher reacts to his opponents slightest movements using incredible reflexes and quickness. On the other hand pacquiao used his superior explosive strength, stamina and endurance to blast through an opponents defence and in many cases simply overwhelms an opponents reaction speed.
