SRR. The only ime he got koed at welter was against a 160lbprime Lamotta I believe. SRR had way more fights and went to war more. If youre talking about an actual beard though Ill give it to Duran. Haha
Robinson`s only stoppage loss, was to Joey Maxim for the 175 title. And he suffered more from heat exhaustion than power shots... I gotta go with Robbie on this one...
Difficult Question to answer. For one thing, while both men had durable chins, their tendency to withstand fights without getting stopped, were a result of different reasons... Robinson was a very fast and elusive fighter to try and hit flush, while Duran usually pummeled a lot of his opponents to where they weren't as effective in the late rounds ( assuming they even survived. ) In addition, Duran began his career at lightweight and fought about 60% of his career there, whilst Robinson was a natural welterweight, so I suppose some concessions should be made..... Roberto Duran was never TRULY stopped until he fought Thomas Hearns in 1984.. The Leonard stoppage was not so much a result of punch resistance problems as it was, the mental aspect of being totally outclassed while also having other physical issues going on, ( apparently Duran had some digestive problems of some source, but I have no source. ) Robinson was never stopped at welter if my info is correct. But again, the question requires further study.
If they exchange bombs I`m betting Duran gets KO`d... Robinson had more fights, over 200 & was never KO`d, his chin deserves to be ranked higher, especially since most regard Duran to have the edge in defense & he still has the Hearns thing on his record.... what would happen if that same punch landed on Robinson ?... who knows ?.... we can only go on what actually happened & Robinson`s chin must get the vote over Duran`s if we`re being fair.
