Ruddock didn't have that game changing right hand to trouble Holmes IMO.

When Ruddock fell in love with his power he relied solely on his unique half uppercut half hook type punch with the left hand.

I think Ruddock is a bit too limited lacking boxing IQ and a elite right hand to beat Holmes even in 1992.

“Nobody cared about” lol = “Don King didn’t make a big deal about it in his promotion of the fight.”

Razor’s resume was what it was no matter how much you want to sneak it under the rug to make your point.

Did you carry Mercer’s spit bucket or something? Nobody considered a pudgy Italian guy to be champ when Tyson was undisputed.

Razor Ruddock was considered not only the world's most dangerous heavyweight in 1991 he ,after a slow start to hospital career was looking the full package. The Dave Jaco aberration was due to an asthma attack and largely forgotten as a freak injury.

Well spoken and a flamboyant ring presence Ruddock had administered 2 frightful knockouts of Michael Dokes and Bonecrusher Smith. On top of that he had beaten Michael Weaver in 1986. Weaver was no joke in 86.That fight and his sparring videos in the same year against Holmes showed a heavyweight with an excellent jab gliding around the ring with footwork. Ruddock had many tools.Though he had started to neglect them.

Tyson beat Ruddock twice over 19 hellish ruinous rounds and ended both fighters prime. Tysons 12 round decision was a superior result in my opinion.

The Tyson-Razor fights were hyped! And rightly so.

Mercer was quite small for a heavy. Good fighter though
