Spotted in this thread: Why is neither Klitschko in Ring magazine's p4p list?

Personally, I don't think this should be close. Pavlik's a good fighter but not in the same technical league at all, imo. I mean, it doesn't matter who you like to watch, who you dislike, whatever. Not about chin, not about blah, not about yadda yadda, not even about Pongsaklek Wonjongkam....Just 'Who is the better boxer?'...This should not be close... Come on. This isn't an anti-anybody thread either. I just think this statement is fascinating. Where does it come from?

p4p Klitschko is way better than Pavlik. Speed, power, and jab. How about resume? I think Pavlik takes that.

Actually I do see the similarity. Take the jab away and what does Wlad have left in his arsenal? Unlike Pavlik, Wlad is lucky there are no skilled/technical fighters (without a huge size mismatch) out there.
Imagine Wlad going cruiserweight (totally absurd thought, but that is what P4P is about. mythical weight matchups ala "what would happen if these champions would meet in the middle weight") and meeting a prime Hopkins or even a Mayweather-type fighter...

That race crap needs to stop, Pavlik has done nothing but fight and WIN the LINEAL MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP and lose to 2 great boxers. He WAS the legit Champ and that sir is not "hype". But Wlad is the better fighter by MILES.:nono

the right hand (nuff said), the left hook that nearly decapitated austin and knocked out chambers, brilliant movement, patience, timing, distance.

I think "Boxmaster" is an alt someone uses for trolling purposes. Read several of his posts, and you'll probably come to the same conclusion.

And labeling fighter as (insert race) hype is unfair because they DO NOT ask to be labeled.

Would you like to call Lamon Brewster the "Great black hype" or Haye "The Great Black Hope"??......................******ed:nono

for me, wlad is better in almost all ways to pavlik. you can't magically transport people to another weight class and pretend that there attribtues remain static: they don't. wlad's style and abilities are based on his weight class, his physicaly strengths and the context of his division, same as pavlik. if wlad were 160 he wouldn't be this wlad

as it stands, in their respective weight classes, wlad is leagues above pavlik

Pound for pounds is first a comparison of the resume and after a comparison of skills. But it is absolutely not who wins against who at weight x.

Think about it two seconds. Gravity affects Klitschko way more than it affects Ivan Calderon, so you can't say that Calderon would outbox Klitschko if both would weigh 140 pounds because both would have a different style based on their athletic abilities at the weight.
