Cotto has better boxing skills he's more compact, throws straighter punchers, and has better balance and footmovement than Pacquiao ... no doubt about it ... Pac has more power in both hands ... both guys have shitty defense ...

Pac is fast and strong but all he does is bob and weave good ... all that goes out the window once he gets hit ... he also has a problem with his balance ...

Anyone saying Cotto here needs to be taken away and tortured remorselessly until they come to their senses.

In a million years, does the current version of Pacquiao get outfought and stopped by someone his size who is the calibre of Margarito?

In a billion light years, does the current version of Pacquiao go life and death with someone his size who is a C-class predictable plodder like Clottey?

The very idea that anyone could say Cotto is absolute insanity.

Against very, very basic boxers in his own weight division, Cotto has struggled badly.

Against men his own size, Pacquiao blows away Margarito and Clottey standard fighters for fun.

Theres a difference between skills and ability. Pac ihas the ability to outspeed his opponents making them miss and hitting and moving often but that doesnt neccessarily mean he has skills. Skills are learned and ability is not. Marquez skills are a level above Pacs, while Pacs ability physically is a level above JMM's. Cotto has the better boxing skills watch the Mosley fight again dude.

Both these guys are overrated in terms of actual skillset, IMCV. Pacquiao is developing a few more tricks here and there, but for the most part he's still a piston puncher who generically jumps in and out - repeat. Cotto is funny about his stuff.. He accentuates every little bit of scoring he does - he acts like an MLB ballplayer doing a slow lap around the bases after he lands one fricking jab. Both guys will put their gloves on ya though, great timing on these boys. Regardless, neither one of them is as skilled as their fans will tell you. No ****ing how..

How does it have to be Pac because he's fast? ... he's just as flaw if not more flaw than Margarito ... he just has some physical abilities but none of which have to do with skill. He still doesn't have more than 2-3 good punches ... he wild ... his balance is poor ... he lacks defensive awareness ...

He can throw the straight left and the right hook good but his jab is flicking ... he doesn't throw punches from underneath or over the top ... he doesn't throw uppercuts and he's short armed ... there isn't much he can do outside of his speed and physicality.

Cotto is the more technically sound boxer of the two, while Manny is more naturally talented.

Cotto has the better boxing skills.

The same Cotto who didn't have a clue how to defend himself against Margarito, and got his ****ing face smashed in, because he had no idea of how to cope with Margarito's bizarre and skilful tactic of... following him around and telegraphing every single punch???

Defence is a huge part of boxing skills dude. This is a no contest.

Cotto has a better jab. In every other way, Pacquiao is the superior boxer.

He was raw and one-dimensional and relied too much on physicality in 2003-2005. He is a completely different animal now.
