Its a matter of opinion dick breath ... you're opinion does trump anyone's thats the great thing about an opinion, it is what it is ...dumb ass !!

You're not a boxer ... you're not an elite level champion ... and you don't know what it takes to get on that level and you don't know the difference between physical talent and technical talent ... this is the sport of boxing ... the sweet science ...

When you have a guy who doesn't have skill to rely on then he's going to lose badly when he does lose ... especially when he's faced with adversity because there's no adjustments to be made ... all he can do is come faster and harder ... not make a technical adjustment ... thats the difference in skill. Thats why the fights that Pac have go the distance are alot closer than a fighter with more skill than him and when he gets stops he's usually overwhelming his opponent, not breaking him down technically.

You are not a fan of boxing. You are a fan of one particular fighting style :good

and what fighting style is that?

because from what I know non of the fighters that I said were better skilled than Pac have the same style.

Oh dear. That is one of the worst posts I have seen in a while. I think it is time for your medication.

Also, to say that Pac has quick reflexes and great power but then say that you cannot compare that to Roy Jones is utterly stupid. Roy is not a text book boxer and does not posses the technical finesse of someone like Floyd, Pernell etc.. but he had fantastic physcial gifts...much like Manny (except more-so).

Who on this forum believes a NATURAL athlete who decides to enter a chosen sport would struggle with weight?

Who belives a natural athlete would take it upon themselves in the sport of boxing to hit and be hit.

Wouldn't natural athletic ability allow you to come to the conclusion at an early age that your natural athletic ability allows you to HIT and NOT be hit. To have stamina for a 12 round fight and walk out the ring without requiring the hospital bed.

Compare a natural athlete like Mayweather to Pac and their is no comparison.

Worse post lol. Compare these two boxing skills to Mayweather jr or Juan Manual Marquez and you will be the one who needs MEDICATION to even dare to compare BOXING SKILLS.

I agree however that Roy Jones is not a technical finesse boxer however dont even try to suggest that roy throws a million punches like pac, Roy natural footwork in the ring, is ten times better than pac, Roy accuracy in the ring is ten times better than pac, **** Roy movement is way better than pac. Roy has natural athletic ability that allows him to do what he does. Pac man did not when he first started out. Why do you talk about pac now 2009, natural ability is when you first start out in the chosen sport, those who have this natural athletic ability will need to work less than those who dont have it.

There is no such thing as a natural athlete, not in boxing anyway. People who cite mayweather as an example of such an athlete need to go speak to floyd and his father and ask them at what age lil floyd started boxing and also the amount of work floyd puts into his training or has done over the decade.

On another point, others on this thread are confusing speed, with reaction times (skill), ability to read an opponent and predict movement (skill), Ability to think clearly after being tagged (skill), Ability to move and recover after being rocked (skill). Manny has all of the above. I still think that if you want to see a display of pacquiaos boxing skills watch pacquiao diaz.

Cotto on the other hand has many holes in his game. Not knowing how to read or block an uppercut is one of them. Others are, having to set your feet to get punches off, Relatively slow footwork (although he has excellent quality footwork), Relatively slow reaction times (he has been hit with the uppercut many times not to mention looping shots from mosley, although mosley has fast hands), Cant properly set up opponents with feints the way manny does.

Cottos advantage is his physicality (naturally 10 lbs+ bigger than pacquiao) and is a harder puncher than manny but not as explosive. He is also very good at judging relative range to his opponent and cutting off the ring effectively. However at the higher level i believe cottos relatively slow upperbody movement and footwork will fail him. A final thing to note is that although manny has not faced someone who punches as hard as miguel (relative to weight class) cotto has not faced anyone with the skill of a prime pacquiao, something which is much more difficult to overcome compared to physical limitations.

i agree with this totaly.. people are just really blinded.. pacquiao fights the way people likes to see a fighter fights.. pugulism is about hurting your opponent and thats what pac does.. but for me the skill of pac is very underated.. pac has a very good head movement.. he can box if he wants to round 2 of the hatton fight he was boxing more and then with his perfect timing (wich is another skill for me) he executed one of the most devasting one punch ko in history,
in the diaz fight he was excuting the whole arcenal that can be found in any boxing book.. only a blind man wouldnt be able to see the talent and the skill that pacquiao has..

pac is the better fighter. There is no question he does most things better than Cotto except maybe punching power at the weight.
