id say hitman. he outboxed master boxer-puncher sugar ray leonard in their first fight. floyd has nothing in his resume remotely close to this.
IF hearns was as good at pure boxing as floyd then he would have never lost. Hearns problem was that he loved to slug it out with guys cuz he felt that no one could take his amazing right. Hearns had a 78 inch reach while mayweather has 72 inch reach. IF mayweather had hearn"s reach people may not have been able to touch him @ welterweight and lower. Hearns in an ATG no doubt but overall boxing skill Mayweather>Hearns. Hearns jab (when he threw it) was amazing and that straight still scares the **** outta me lol.
I don't know how you distinguish between two guys who had mastered the art. But Hearns loved to go to war. That's the difference. If he had played it safe defensively and fought 12 round fights, he might never have lost.
I chose PBF, but Hearns would have made it a war. If Hearns catches PBF with what Mosley did, it good night.
Hearns. And **** off with that height bull****. If Floyd actually chose to fight a prime fighter on par with opposition that Hearns had faced he wouldn't be undefeated. Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, SRL vs. Corrales, Gatti, Hatton.......... Hearns was man enough to fight the best and never would have run from a little pinoy powerhouse. The reason he's so "good" is because he hand picks fighters that have no chance at beating him. Hearns was a much better boxer. He also would have never lost and would probably be considered the GOAT if he fought the fighters floyd fought.
