These are two old school boxers that I deeply admire. Both guys epitomized the term 'sweet science' with their sublime boxing technique, using great defense, smooth offense, and hard counter punches. Both were very hard to hit although they used their own style of defense.
In your opinion who do you think possessed the better boxing skills of the two?

I think Johnson us one of the five or ten best technicians ever, so he gets the edge.

Harold was by-the-book perfect. Benton was smoother, more like "Mantequilla" Napoles.

Harold was the classic technician. Teddy Brenner didn't use Johnson in his promotions because "Harold Johnson was perfect, and theirs no room in this world for perfection".........
What a bs artist Brenner was.
