DUDE, it is close and Shane could possibly get the nod by some on this board, BUT just tell us how you REALLY feel about itatsch Old, shot, barely beat, lol............Just say u think it was Shane
this shouldn't even be a question Tito's resume at WW is the equivalent of Shanes resume at LW... as great as Mosley is, the resume speaks for it'self
Was just about to say that. I like them both, but Shane never was that "guy" at WW. Tito was the truth at 147.
Trinidad at 147. All-time p4p, they're close. I felt Tito was clearly ahead before last Saturday, but a one-sided demolition over the man regarded as the #1 welterweight in the world at age 37 is enough to make it very close, maybe enough to give Shane the edge.
I have this same argument with the Mayweather-Jones debate. It is not Trinidad's fault of the competition that was in the WW division back then. He just beat everybody. Sure Shane fought in a much better WW division as far as talent. But he never really struck me as a dominant WW. By the time he beat DLH, he got taken out by Forrest. And moved up in weight to get pounded on to come back down to 147. When Trinidad left WW for good he beat Joppy @ 154 who was an elite fighter back then and beat his ass!!! Then move up to 160 to get taken out by a future hall of famer. The guys who beat Mosley are not HOF caliber material except maybe Cotto but he has not done enough and has not beaten an elite fighter in their prime just yet. I still say Trinidad but I like them both a lot.
I think Mosley accomplished more, even if I think Tito was probably a bit better at that weight. Tough call, very close.
I know I've been on the fence with this one since I read it. The thing that is killing me is that stylistically, I think Mosley would be a nightmare for Trinidad.
:nono You are wrong my friend. Shane is more of a fighter than a "boxer", he likes to mix it up and go toe to toe alot. If he did that fighting Tito he would go to sleep no doubt. Tito beats Shane at 147.
Wrong. He fought Joppy in the first round of the middleweight tournament, which was at 160--same weight where he fought Hopkins.
