calzaghes great grandfather fought side by side with william wallace in Scotland. the calzaghe's are true warriors. erik morales might be a top 50 all-time fighter but, calzaghe was undefeated. he's a legend.

    Calzaghe ended his career undefeated.
Regardless of what people want to say he has wins over Hopkins (book marked between two of Hopkins most impressive performances - Tarver and Pavlik), a prime and healthy Kessler, a once promising Jeff Lacy (whose career was ended by Joe), a highly avoided Sakio Bika (who did better against Ward than he did against Joe), a streaking Omar Sheika (when he was still relevant), a young and still capable Robin Reid, a hard hitting Byron Mitchell (who in every fair eye beat Sven Ottke 3 months earlier).

so did sven ottke he also isnt a atg, I think calzaghe is a good hof fighter who lacks resume, but he is not crap or anything.
But comparing him with a real atg like erik Morales is laughable though.

Erik just by his opposition. But Joe is impressive also, but he fought guys when they were past it.

Funny thread. Morales PROVED himself more EARLIER in his career and had more memorable fights by far. He's better for boxing, there's no questioning that. Joe was great too but he lacks the challenges Morales had to prove how he should stack up. Would Joe fight a prime Pacquiao or prime Barrera in his division? I will admit that his win over Kessler was solid but he should've done more much earlier.

    Come on.
It's not like Morales doesn't have over hyped wins over faded Junior Jones and Kevin Kelley.

Morales looked terribly ordinary against a slick Zahir Raheem. A fight that only solidified the thought that if he would have fought a younger and healthy Kevin Kelley that fight would have turned out much differently.

His win over Wayne McCullough is built up to be big when going into that fight the discussion wasn't so much if Morales can win or not but if McCullough's chin is strong enough to not get KOd.

    You are kidding me, right?
Morales was blown away by Zahir. Struggled to land close to any punch.
