Morales's wins over prime MAB and Pac eclipse anything Calzaghe's achieved in his career.

Calzaghe would have racked up at least a few losses had he fought Morales type of competition.... And Morales would have dominated against Calzaghes type of opponents.. IMO Calzaghes only real big win was against a past it(but still great) Bernard Hopkins.

Morales top 6o to 70 atg .. Im not sure if Calzaghe cracks the top 100.

Calzaghe's win over Kessler is very nice, his win over BHop is debatable so I don't get too excited about it. Suffice it to say his resume isn't too great and you're right that if he fought Morales caliber opposition in his career he would have several more losses.

    Only idiots say "old Hopkins".

Younger Hopkins was not the better Hopkins and boxing fans know this.
His career started to become something of note later into his career.

And again, which you glossed over, his loss to Calzaghe is book-marked by career best performances (Tarver and Pavlik). And also, he just recently gave the current light heavy champ a run for his money.

    And more importantly:
Morales lost almost EVERY round to Raheem.
That fight was not even competitive. Morales was embarrassed and it was an upset (Ring Upset of the Year).

Calzaghe beat Hopkins. Probably the first time ever in his career where Hopkins looked frustrated. And where he was out gamed later in the fight.

    Anachronistic....

Morales's win over Pac in the first fight? Even Freddy Roach was saying that was not Pac's best. That he was still very much the same limited fighter that was almost beat by JMM.
Freddy Roach would be very forthcoming that it was after that fight where they really started to deep Manny's approach to fighting.

Hopkins was past it and thats a big reason he lost the fight he wasnt active enough later on and he let Calzaghe out hustle him. That wouldnt have happened in hopkins prime when he was a much more offensive fighter. I agree that Hopkins peaked later in his career but that was during his mw reign not when he fough Calzaghe. Also styles make fights if your getting up there in age a guy like Calzaghe who is always working and throwin punches si the wrong guy for an aging vetran to fight.. he beat Tarver and Pascal cause hes just the better and smarter fighter... By the way not to take nothing from Calzaghe but it was more of a case of Hopkins giving away those last rounds which cost him the fight.... I had Calzaghe by one point but the Hopkins frrom before would have never let that hapen.. Maybe Morales losin it at the end had somethin to do with all the wars and great fighters he fought.. Calzaghe cant say the same thing cuz his resume doesnt compare.

Hmmn not that different caue he still got the same controversial decision and pretty much same outcome as he did with Marquez a few years later after losing to Morales... pac has improved ill admit that but he was still an elite fighter back then and way better than anyone Calzaghe beat.
