But since he was popped, we don't know if he was using or not during his prior achievements. So it's just a big question mark.

    Jesus Christ...

Toney is an legit MW who FOUGHT AT HEAVYWEIGHT and STILL didn't get knocked out, and actually sought out the VERY BEST challenges that he could in his career.

Nunn, McCallum and RJJ are and were MASSIVE names back then. And James beat 2 out of 3 of them.

Floyd didn't want anything to do with Manny, yet James was standing toe to toe with MASSIVE punching HW's like Sam Peter. This is from a guy who was a MIDDLEWEIGHT!!!!

Nunn/McCallum > Absolutely ANYTHING on Floyd's win column.

^This. Unreal skills, absolutely fearless, iron chin, had success from middleweight to heavyweight, Toney is an ATG.

Toney is arguably the greatest of all time at 160-168

Only loss to the greatest talent in boxing history

And even then a non weight drained toney is 50-50 vs jones

It's a question mark to you .Nothing you take can make you as skilled ..And unless you have proof there is no question now good he was .

How can this even be a thread? Floyd has the far better career come on now.

The problem with Floyd is he will never fight someone if he has any doubt as to whether he can win. Unlike great champions, who want to fight the best when they are at their best. That is the line of Floyd. It is why he is called Duck-weather by so many. He only wants damaged goods, too young or too old.

An argument can be made that James has the better resume. He has beaten the better fighters, Nunn, McCallum, Iran Barkley, Jirov, Holyfield.

Although admittedly, Floyds resume has more depth and he has been at the TOP a lot longer than James. So , Floyd had the better career overall and ranks probably higher as an ATG.

Toney nobody will ever remember James Toney as a cherry picker, besides his wins over Nunn, McCallum top anything Floyd has ever beaten. Plus Toney tested himself he moved up to HW and beat Peter and Holyfield he took defeats but if Floyd tested himself like Toney he'd have been beaten as well. James Toney didn't duck his biggest challanges Floyd did simple as to compare resume it's close but i go for Toney.

    Toney's top 5 wins

    1 Michael Nunn
    2 Mike McCallum
    3 Evander Holyfield
    4 Vasily Jirov
    5 Iran Barkley

    Floyd top 5
    1 Corrales
    2 ODLH
    3 Canelo
    4 Cotto
    5 Hernandez

Agreed that Toney has the better resume. Also believe his heavyweight campaign as a ft.10 former middleweight is underrated.

That being said, Floyd fought at the championship level his whole career. That is not the case for James who was inconsistent.Floyd has the better career.
