    Lennox Lewis easily.

Lewis only lost due to arrogance and there was no need for those losses as we saw in the rematches.

He fought everyone, hit like a mother ****er and looked good doing it.

He knew how to trhow proper punches and boxed well with the correct technique.

We know the big guy is well liked on ESB & vice versa for Calzaghe so Id be in deep shock if Joe won the vote but to me & many others, Joe is the best post-war boxer Britain has ever produced.

Lewis best wins were Tyson (shot), Holy (past prime) & Vitali (prime)
Calzaghe`s best wins were Jones (shot), Hopkins (past prime tho still elite p4per) & Kessler (prime)

They both became undisputed no1 in their division beating bad-average-decent fighters, Lewis had controversy vs Mercer... Calzaghe had likewise vs Reid... 2 guys that on different nights would lose to both LL & JC decisively.

Lennox lost by KO twice to lesser fighters... Joe did not & never came close to doing so.

Lennox is consensus top 10 HWT... Joe is consensus top 2 SMWT.

Lennox never cracked the top 5 p4p... Joe was widely regarded as no2 when he retired.

Calzaghe has the better career for me.

Ps. I also regard Joe as the more skilled fighter but thats not what the thread asked for so I`ll leave it at that.

    :thumbsup

I think Lennox had the better career but Joe was the slightly better all round fighter.

He didn't fight any of them while they were in their prime in their era though. He actually managed to not fight any of the top 5 fighters during his era. Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, Moorer or Foreman. They were all on top through the early and mid 90's and Lewis managed to not fight any of them. He ended up beating an old Holyfield, and a completely washed up Tyson later on though. Not only that, but even after Lewis became "undisputed Champ" his reign wasn't all that impressive was it? Dropped the WBA to avoid his #1 contender, dropped the IBF to avoid his #1 contender, beat Grant, Botha, and Tua... got knocked out by Rahman, won his titles back... beat a washed up Tyson, and then escaped a fight that he was losing against Vitali Klitschko due to a cut... and eventually retired 8 months later when the WBC forced Lewis to either fight Vitali again or be stripped. He also failed to fight Wlad who was his ring mag #1 contender for over 2 years during that time period.

When you look back on it... his career isn't as great as people now make it out to be. He did have a great career, though. However... it has been COMPLETELY blown out of proportion in recent years.

ONLY in the land of ESB.

21 defences of ANY title is something ANY of Lewis achievements will never come close to matching.

For more reasons, see my above post... then mix that with the fact that Calzaghe was just plain the better fighter.

    Calzaghe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lewis.

    No problem.
