And you are a COMPLETE Lewis hater but its ok....ohh yes i know Wlad is so much superior....in fact not only Wlad but all the Klitschko family...is that right..atsch
What does this thread have to do with Wladimir Klitschko?? The post you were replying to just stated the fighters who were around when LL was around. No need to bring Wlad into it.Maybe Vitali's inclusion is justified to back up your argument about Lewis' career being blown out of proportion blah blah...
Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe are closer than Joe Calzaghe and Lennox Lewis...... To put it in perspective.
I agree completely. Also, Hatton at least fought Mayweather, he may have lost but there's nothing to suggest Calzaghe would have done the same in his shoes. Hatton can overtake Calzaghe with a few good wins.
Are you being serious? Do you not realize that YOU are turning this into a debate about the Klitschkos? I named EVERYONE who was relevant to my post. When discussing a boxer and their career... it is obviously going to include the other fighters on the scene in that time. Considering that Wladimir Klitschko was Lennox Lewis' #1 contender ranked by Ring Mag for over 2 years.. a fight that fans wanted, HBO wanted, and tried to push, ect... happens to be a relevant fact when discussion Lewis' career. It's hilarious how you pick a couple small sentences out that entire post, and run off on your little hissy fit. Way to completely ignore the fact that I named SEVERAL other boxers, and that everything I said was clearly in regards to the fact that Lewis didn't fight the best fighters of his own era duing their primes, and also didn't fight his top contenders once he became Champ... after the real stars of his era had already burnt out.
I am not a Lewis hater at all. I wouldn't rank him as an ATG if I was a hater. I just speak the truth, and Lewis huggers can't seem to deal with the truth. I never said anything in my post about Wlad being superior, and I have already said recently that I don't even rank Wlad as an ATG at this point. So, you are just showing your own ignorance.
Lewis vs Wlad would have been pointless.Lewis fought the best throughout his career. You know the reasons he didn't fight Bowe and Tyson in their primes so don't bring that up
I see that you are still stuck on the Wladimir Klitschko aspect of my post. I love how you guys keep harping on this, and then acting like I am obsessed. Anyways... why the hell would Lewis vs Wlad have been pointless? Wlad was CLEARLY the other best fighter in the world, held the only title that Lewis didn't hold, and EVERYONE wanted to see that fight. It was such a popular topic that they put the two against each other in the movie Ocean's 11. That fight would have been great for the fans. How the hell can you say that Lewis fought the best throughout his career when he managed to NOT fight the best in his own era during their primes?:huh It makes no sense. I can name the top 5 fighters in Lewis' era, and he didn't fight them in their prime. Then... after the top dogs in his own era were worn out, Lewis jumps in and becomes Undisputed Champ, then immediately starts dropping titles to avoid his #1 contenders. Not only did he fail to fight his #1 contenders, but he also managed to only defend his title twice from November 2001 until Feb of 2004 when he retired. That is AWFUL! He didn't fight his #1 Challengers and then held the WBC hostage... finally retiring when forced to either fight or be stripped... yet he was still trying to sue washed up Mike Tyson back into the ring.:-( People act like Lewis didn't fight those other guys because they weren't worthy or something. Hell... it's a lot better than fighting NOBODY. Yes... to answer your question, I know exactly why Lewis never got the big fights earlier in his career. Because he turned down 13.5 Million dollars for a fight against Tyson, and decided to take 4 million to step aside instead. Had Lewis believed that he would beat Tyson, there would be no reason to turn that fight down. If he beat Tyson, that would have immediately set up a fight with Holyfield, and the entire Heavyweight division would have had to pass through Lewis. Lewis dropped the ball himself on that one.
Both are guilty of not fighting eilite fighters in their prime. Why didn't Lennox fight a prime Tyson and a Prime Holyfield. Same with Calzaghe why didn't he fight a prime Roy Jones, a prime James Toney or a prime B-hop (although B-hop isn't shot) he's is past his prime. The way I see it, atleast Lennox fought in the U.S. thus the two losses. He could have easily stayed in Europe and fought lesser competition and remained undefeated. If JC had fought extensively in the U.S., he would have a loss to someone, therefore I give the nod to Lennox even with the two brutal KO losses.
I bring facts to the table to back up my opinions. Look at my posts... then look at yours. All you are doing is attacking my character. Move on.
