Lewis’ chin seemed fine for the most part but he has two legit ko losses. AJ’s is really shaky but he’s never been ktfo like Lewis.
Don't let your hatred of Big Joshie blind you. AJ has the better chin. People have given Lewis mythical powers. As people point out, he was one punched twice. Those opponents did not have Wlad's power. Not all punches are connecting the same, of course, but Wlad's looked pretty clean. Lewis is absolutely getting at least dropped the same by a Wlad hammer, but probably not getting up in condition to fight from the punch AJ took. Vitali never had Wlad's power so don't think just because Lewis took shots there he could take Wladimir's. Plenty of fighters took round after round of punishment from Vitali without getting put down or stopped, Sanders, Arreola, Briggs, even Adamek ... Vitali took an incredible number of punches to put people away when you look at his size. Wlad could put people away with very few. And he would have destroyed Lewis if he'd landed what Vitali did.
Alt account? First off neither is chinny. Lewis got clocked twice but both times had a concentration lapse and got taggged. otherwise showed his chin was decent as he fought some decent punchers and was fine. Also he rematched and avenged those losses. Joshua got stopped once and wobbled on another occasion. although showed in other fights that he could be dropped but come back and win. Although Jodhua has the best resume out of current heavies Lennox fought in the stronger era. Also find it hilarious that Vlad had some mythical abilities in his 40's. Lennox fought the more offensive brother when he was 30 and stopped him in 6..... So Lewis for me has the better tested chin. Joshua has been decked more but most of the time has been able to come back and win. To assume either is "David Price" chinny is asinine.
Lennox faced a number of big punchers and didn't go anywhere. And I mean sustained wars where he was getting hammered. The two shots that leveled him (one which he got up from and was fairly clear headed), would've dropped the vast majority of HW's. Lennox's chin is fairly proven, not granite but it's not bad. Also, why do people keep saying that Joshua took Wlad's hardest shot and got up, Wlad didn't even have much on that shot, and there's enough footage that you can go back and look at how Wlad leveled some guys with much bigger shots.
There were only two Lewis' fights where he got hammered - Mercer and Vitali fights. he was hurt against both but didn't go down. So yes, his chin isn't bad. However, it's not as proven as some people try to make it look. He barely took any punches against: - Ruddock - Golota - Morrison - Tua - shot Tyson He took good punches from Mercer, Holyfield (round 7 of the rematch), Briggs and Vitali and was hurt in each of these fights. Bruno outboxed, outjabbed him until being TKOed himself, this fight was anything but hammering of Lennox. So, it's not like Lennox was standing there and trading punches like Holyfield, Bowe, Foreman or Tua did. He always did everything possible to avoing getting hit just like Wlad. Sometimes it wasn't enough (against Vitali) or his clinches weren't working (against Mercer), so he had to fchange his tactics. But almost all Lewis' fights weren't wars - they were either destructions (Golota, Grant, Ruddock, Botha, Rahman 2 etc), safety-first masterclasses (Tua), boxing displays with huge amount of clinching (Holyfield, Tyson) or somewhat mixed between those 3 (Butler, Morrison). Briggs fight had war monents in it, but Briggs was outclassed for the most part of the fight, there were only a couple of good punches landed by him - we can compare this fight to Joshua vs Whyte bout, where Whyte hit AJ with his heymaker but was dominated in the fight. So, only Mercer and Vitali fights can be called the wars in Lewis' career.
Hard to say which of the two is/was more discombobulated by hard punches. Both can be hurt, dropped and stopped. What we do know, however, is the relative long-term impact of being stopped; Lewis did a better job on Rahman than Rahman did to him but AJ got on his bike in the rematch with Ruiz. One of those two dealt with the psychological impact of being stopped, the other let it permanently affect him mentally.
Holyfield would beat aj ass mccall who fight lewis would beat AJ ass but yea lenny lummox lewis is overrated
Hard to say. I will however say that no way would Lewis get rocked to the ropes by an Usyk left or get punched around the ring by Ruiz Joshua may have had a better chin earlier on in his career but it's clearly deteriorated and his mental fragulity and lack of survival instinct make it worse. People forget about that.
