Get ****ing real already, he went down from shots to the head not the body, and yeah he quit but how many times was he dropped prior to him quitting?
True, which is why I don't feel comfortable saying that Cotto's chin is better than anyone's. Realistically.
LOL, yeah, Cotto was playing keep-away and dragging the process out, continously, by moving along the ropes, and fighting an outrageously paranoid and defensive fight. Margarito was barely landing any head shots, and when he did land they were glancing blows. As soon as Margarito started catching up with Cotto in the mid rounds Cotto was almost out in his feet on the very first occasion he started getting tagged. Generic comparisons are terrible.
Obviously Cotto due to fighting much better and stronger competition. I don't think it is a good fight for Cotto to take after the Margarito fight. Cintron does hit hard and he is tall like Margarito. I would rather see Cotto fight Clottey.
I actualy dont remember cintron going on ***** street, he was cut and broken down similary like Cotto. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjl-B-XW8RQ&feature=related To answer the thread: Its hard to judge, Cotto was on ***** street at 140 more than once, but then again he fought far better competition, if we dont look at the competition these two faced and just look at their overal chin resistance Cintron have an edge, again we dont know how Cintron would respond to someone with Torres, Judah, Mosley power. Edit: im not defending Cintron here, but Cotto has superior defense and started taking serious shots from Margo only later in the fight, while Cintron stood in front of Margo and ate those shots flush. We'r comparing chins not whos better overal boxer.
I don't know about that. Cotto has faced better comp., but he's been wobbled and/or forced on his bike against basically all of them. Because of his lack of mobility, Cintron has to sit there and eat a lot more leather than Cotto. Cotto simply can't afford to trade wth a puncher.
Yes, your right. Cotto has other options like running or holding. If you get caught, the worst thing to do is try to fight back. Take a knee, run, or hold. Cintron is one of those fighters that would try to fight back and this will be his demise. We will find out more about Cintron as soon as he fights more good competition besides Margarito. I do have to say, I have never been knocked out, but I have been hurt and dropped. Ruiz vs Tua. Got rocked and tried to fight, but no one knows what goes through a fighters head when they truly get rocked. I rather move then eat unnesesary punches.
No he was not broken down, he was blasted out in that fight, and it was due to punishment up top even Atlas said in that link you posted that margarito could better serve himself by going to the body.
Cotto never really took too many direct hard head shots by Margo until Round 7. And he was almost toast. Zab was two inches on an uppercut from putting him out. Shane rocked his ass one time. He's had better competition and has recovered well, but his chin isn't much better than Cintron's, if any.
