Leonard over Hearns is the best display of chin I've seen.

Duran. He took some huge punches from Hearns in round one and two and didn't go down, and Barkley in 1989- a left hook which turned him around. and Leonard landed a right hand in roudn 6 of the rematch which should have knocked out Duran. If Leonard took those same punches he would have been hurt. Fact is Leonard was not hit clean until he was getting knocked down. I don't think his chin was as great as his defense. Sort of like Roy Jones. Jr.

Duran took some huge shots against Barkley and didn't go down. The was also hit clean by Hearns and even after the Hearns punch that literally could have killed someone Duran got up. I've just never seen Leonard get hit quite like that.

I was introducing a buddy of mine 25 years my junior to duran and he's a huge, huge Pac fan, and he was shocked by Duran getting up from that Hearns punch especially after we'd just watched Pac get iced against JMM with a punch that was no where near as vicious.

how can anyone pick Leonard based on one fight?

didnt they see his fight w Geraldo? no wonder he shied away from 160

and what about all those other kds? Geez, he only had thirty something fights

KEVIN HOWARD? what are they going to blame that on, OLD AGE?

when u suffer as many kds i think the best thing to do is just to not acknowledge the facts

Duran but they both have Iron chins. Duran's got hit more though so its more tested. Remember Duran started out as a damn lightweight and took shots from Hagler, Barkley, and Hearns. Even though it was a devastating KO loss to Hearns he took multiple flush straight right hands from him before the coup de grace and he was on his feet pretty quickly after such a devastating KO. Amazing

is that laugh about the fact Duran didn't go down? He went down eventually, but those punches after the bell rang to start round 2 would have dropped anyone else. Duran had a great chin. When Ray started fighting guys who hit him clean like Hearns,Norris etc who were fast, he started going down. He did not have the chin of Duran, he had better speed.

    Duran.

Leonard had a granite chin, but Duran's was better.

He was hopelessly non-equipped to deal with Tommy Hearns, and despite being executed inside two rounds still showed remarkable bravery/punch resistance throughout the fight.

It's no shame to have a lesser chin than Roberto Duran, the man was literally a ****ing beast.

It's like comparing Tommy Hearns' power to Julian Jackson. Still murderous, but not as murderous. Jackson could one-shot 95% of middleweights who've ever been in the ring, there's only guys like Hagler who I'd confidently pick to withstand a bomb from JJ and keep marching forward. Hearns would be slightly lower.

Look. if we are going to talk about chins... We have to really include Terrible Terry Norris in this conversation. After absorbing shots from, Mullings Brown and Jackson. His legs resemsbled that of a wet noodle... Now THAT was a sterling chin !

Probably Duran. He only truly was bombed out once,by Hearns. And THAT Hearns was a wrecking ball with a glove on it. And Duran was at such a horrible size matchup (Kind of like Foster/Tiger) that he really didn`t have a chance. Now SRL has a great chin as well. But, considering that DSuran started as a lightweight and fought all the way up to middle... He displayed a solid chin ... Not sure how many fighters at 154 could have withstood Hearns shots that night ...
