Hagler. I didn't see him getting dropped and hurt by a guy like Reggie Johnson. The weights have nothing to do with it, some people's frames and styles are suited to multiple weights, some fighters are dedicated to and only at their best for one weight.
I gotta say even. Hagler had a legendary chin at middleweight and no one could hurt him. Toney on the other hand has a legendary chin from middle weight to heavyweight but Toney is NATURALLY bigger than Hagler. I believe it said he was about 220 when he played football. so I'm going to say even
Hagler. Toney being naturally bigger & having a huge head helped him take shots all the way upto heavyweight. He was hurt a number of times by peter & surely lost a few brain cells. I suspect Hagler could've been like those old time middleweights going up against heavyweights without being overpowered also.
Toney had a little help lets not forget. Hagler was a smaller guy, sometimes wonder whether he would have been better suited to 154 rather than 160
You know why your argument is ******ed...it dont matter how much BIGGER Toney is than Hagler....What matters is Toney is fighting bigger guys than himself with twice his punching power. He been in the ring with Rahman Peter twice...Not even real big heavyweights with good chins took there shots without getting hurt. Though Peter hurt Toney the second fight. Toney looks ridiculous in the ring with heavyweights b/c he is not naturally a heavyweight. He has small arms and the least broad shoulders out of any heavyweight. He is fat. Toney has the better chin.
atsch Hagler took harder punches than Toney at middleweight without blinking, whereas Toney found himself on his arse & hurt, if only once. Hence Hagler has the better chin. It's not rocket science. I think Hagler's chin would've held up fine at heavyweight against what Toney's chin took, despite being smaller & not having a massive melon, but that's just speculation & my humble opinion.
