That's like arguing that Manny Pacquiao has better chin that Floyd. :nut

I see what you are saying but I disagree, Floyd has been far more defensive than Pac for his entire career. Wlad only became defensively very sound when he gradually changed his style over the course of a few years with Steward, and we have enough evidence from three losses to reasonably assess how good his chin is. We can't make that assessment for Floyd since we don't have enough evidence to go on from any point in his career.

The disparity in styles between Pac and Floyd is also much greater than Wlad and Lewis, so I think you are stretching it with that example. For the record, I also think Wlad's chin is better than people give it credit for, but due to his much improved defense we haven't really had a chance to see it properly tested for a long time. Whereas Lewis actually got caught in most fights, and the vast majority of the time he was fine - but everyone always has memories of when he wasn't.

Lennox and it's not very close. I'd like to see Wladimir in a real give-and-take before I even begin to put him in that class.

I have seen them both take hard punches with ease. They have also both been stopped. Wlad has always got back up after his knockdowns and he also has climbed off the canvas and gone on to win. Lewis has never got up after being knocked down, so it's hard to say.

I think with both of them it's much more a matter of not being prepared and taking fights for granted when they suffered their losses. Neither of them lost to somebody people thought would beat them, and they both won their toughest fights against their best opponents. So... I don't think that chin was the issue with either of them. If they had bad chins... then they would have ALWAYS had bad chins and neither of them would have ever been able to stand up to big punches. They have both proven that they could in fact stay upright after taking huge shots, and fighters with horrible chins simply can't do that.

I would definitely say that Wladimir has the better defense. He gets hit flush much less often than Lewis did.

Don't try arguing with that guy. He's far more intelligent than you'll ever be. :)

Lewis would have KTFO the Wlad that fought Sanders.

Lewis had a decent chin, wlad has one of the worst chins for a dominate fighter. If he fought lewis' opposition then he would have retired young.

Didn't Wlad get rocked by Haye?

Anyone know how many times Wlad has been rocked?

No not really. He got caught a few times and clinched up, but that's almost a reflex action with him now. Buzzed rather than rocked, but then the same applied to Haye.

Man you are a complete moron. (Pianeta schooled McCall)? McCall is 100 years old and Rahman was a shell of himself when Wlad fought him. Wlad was stopped by Purity which is a complete bum. Brewster fair and square and Sanders the golfer. Rahman beat Sanders btw. Lewis was a class above WLad. You better thank god WLad never fought Lewis. Lewis would have destroyed WLads entire career.

When did guys like Purrity became a 'power puncher' Purrity was the very definition of a journeyman.. Literally.. if you look at his record that's an actual journeyman........... Guys like Rahman/Mccall were not journeyman in the true sense of the word...

But if you look at Purrity's record.. this guy was LITERALLY a journeyman.
He was 31-20. That's an actual journeyman.
