Sanders also gassed out against Rahman after knocking the "Rock" around like a bum and also knocking him down. Sanders was clearly the better of the two...
Clearly the better of the 2, although he got stopped, and Rahman went on to have a much better career. You can make a case for him being the more talented fighter, but in terms of what they achieved during their respective careers, it's not close IMO. Rahman beating him, and achieving more wins at the top level stands out.
Lewis could take a real good punch. He only lost because he was out of shape, whereas Wlad seem to be shaking every time he gets punched in the face. Hell I think even Malignaggi could shake Wlad.
Ok, let's entertain the notion that Lennox did indeed have a shaky chin. Then I guess that would make his achievements even greater if he managed to go all those years beating and dominating world-class heavyweights like he did, eh? Takes some real skill to only get stopped twice throughout your whole career with a chin like that.
Lewis by miles. Wlad would not take the same bombs Lennox absorbed from Mason, Tucker, Bruno, Mercer, Briggs & Vitali, without being floored at least once in each fight with those punchers.
I just saw some clips from Tua versus Lewis. What jumps out at me is that Tua looks short, fat and sloppy. Prime Samuel Peter looks more intimidating to me ... But hey, everything was better in the old days.
Vitali, Bruno, Mercer, Briggs and the Holyfield that fought Lewis all stand a great chance against Wlad imo.
Yup, but how about the chin? If Wlad falls without getting hit, his heart is in question, but it does not tell us anything about the chin, now does it? Can it be that Wlad always ends his fights on his feets, even while loosing?
I agree. :good It fact i would favour '03 Vitali, '96 Mercer & '99 Old Holyfield (rematch version) to all beat current Wlad.
Nah - its Beatle discrediting Beatle and joined by his gal pal Bubby. Not an intentionally humorous troll but he does come up with the odd gem.
Neither of them have glass chins, it's just silly. Lewis has been knocked out twice by one punch, and has never been able to even recover from a knockdown. That says much more about a person's chin and possibly their heart. However, it only happened twice and he was clearly hit more than twice in his career. He didn't have a glass chin. Wlad has never been out cold. He has ALWAYS beat the count and most of his knockdowns (outside of the Sanders fight)... were more about his balanc, overextending, ect... He was only truly put down by hard punches alone in one fight... and that was against Corrie Sanders who hits like a mule. Yet, Wlad was able to keep getting up each time even after being thrashed with flush shot after flush shot. Punches that humans simply aren't built to take. That said a lot more about Wlad's defense and ability to deal with being hurt at the time than it did about his chin. Issues resolved... he has been dominant for years. Clearly no glass chin.
He really was outta shape especially in the Rahman fight. Wlad on the other hand I´ve seen him stumble everytime somebody even touches his face. Lewis has taken huge bombs in his career without being shaken.
