Better defense Pernell Whitaker or Floyd Mayweather

Whitaker has the best defense I've ever seen. With that being said, your statement was wrong, and you've been since educated. Now suck my dick dip****.

 

If more people have common sense, this topic is a no brainer. Floyd has been hard to hit ever since he started boxing till now at age 35. Whitker is no where near that. Also defense is not just how flashy you make ur opponents miss some shots with flashy showboating in between of ur opponents whiffs. Floyd can defend in every type of situation and got down to business of shutting down his opponents in every type of way as oppose to one way. As i have stated earlier.... Whitaker doesn't do much smother, he doesn't clinch that often, he is not a sharper counter puncher to make his opponent not rushing in. Whitaker's defense is much more single layered while Floyd is multi layered which is why he is still boxing at the highest level at age 35 and still considered as the num1 p4p today.

Not saying that Whitaker is not good at what he does but it is not a contest.

 

Whitaker looks more flashy with the dodges and body movement but Floyd is a lot smarter/efficient and more balance complete fighter of the two.

fought better opposition. Can you honestly see mayweather
going the distance with hearns like benitez did? I cant. And how
was I educated? Zab Judah knocked mayweather down, technically
by forcing his glove to touch the canvas from a punch, although
the ref didnt count it. A shot oscar landed more on Mayweather
then he did on Pernell from what I remember. I have a good
quality of Oscar vs Whitaker that ill be watching this weekend.
Mayweather is a defensive genius i just think pernell, benitez,
and the old school guys were superior defensively Pep, Locche,
etc.

Floyd started at 130 and Hearns and Benitez who started their careers 140+ to all the way 190lbs? atsch makes no sense and say that FLoyd never fought those oppositions who were bigger than him too. what a ******.

When comparing Floyd to other fighters most people compare
comparable weights, for example the Floyd who has filled in at
147 against Hearns at 147. The Floyd now at 147 would be big
enough to tangle with Benitez at 147. Perhaps I failed to make
my point, Pernell at lightweight and through his career has
proven himself against better competition than Floyd, and
that is saying a lot cause Floyd has a great resume in
my opinion. Ok? Pernell and Floyd fought at the same weights.

anyone whose really studied both fighters they will tell
you Pernell is a notch or 2 above Floyd.

It is simply impossible to compare who is better between elite fighters from different ERA plus weight. It is ALL opinion. Thats what Stats and records are for. And sounds like ur too lazy to do any research and just relies on assumptions.

 

Unfortunately the only time I get to see high quality Pernell
footage is on Espn classic. Mayweather I have some fights recorded
but only a few. I dont like watching full fights on youtube the
quality sucks for me. Anyway agreed, very hard to compare.
I would say Pernell's is less technically correct, he kind of
shimmys and does his own defensive moves while Floyd
has a set of techniques that imply a more perfect form.
I believe Pernell frustrated fighters more but so did Floyd
I guess. Floyd kind of took his dads defense to the next level
but then again ive seen more footage of floyd senior
Than roger.
