I personally feel PBF has the better defensive game because he will stand in range and slip and roll with shots. Bernard used his footwork to stay away from trouble. I think what PBF does is more skilled but i respect Bernard's footwork and craftiness. Bernard is very good i must say though, He does things very simple and it works a treat.

Floyd without question. Bernard may be better at not getting hit cleanly, but Floyd's better at not getting hit at all, and the way he does it, it actually sets up his offense as well.

Agree with all the above points, Floyd is just a different level to anyone else. He barely loses a round and uses his defence to set up his offence. Bernard was tagged and dropped twice in the 2nd Mercado fight, albeit in the early part of his career

Ill go for Flloyd, simply because he doesn't rely on clinching so much.

When Hopkins goes to clinching mode late on in a fight it is a total bore.

Floyd for me. Its his style of fighting its natural to him, credit to b-hop for adapting (and nazeem richardon for teaching him) coz when he was younger he was much more aggresive but had to alter his style to give him longevity in his career. He's very good at messing people out and making it ugly whilst Floyd's smooth and hardly gets a scratch

Floyd, his ability to slip shots and counter amidst flurries is impressive.

Hopkins is better all-round though, as crafty a boxer as there has ever been, and has proved his skillset against much better opposition. Hop is also the greater fighter IMO.

Floyds ability to counter is breathtaking at times but ive went for the ruggedness and experience of Hopkins. In his 'defensive prime' he was near impossible to tag clean.

For me,Hopkins is a defensive master.

Hopkins is a master of the sweet science in general, timing, combination punching, positioning and craftiness all add up to make him arguably the best scientist of the last 15 or so years IMO.

Floyd. His form of defence is allot more pleasing to the eye to.

This is why people rate him so highly.
