Never would I have thought that Eubank Jr vs Benn would even come close to living up to the excitement that their fathers put on in their first fight yet it managed to do that. In terms of drama and action which fight do you think was better in your view?

For me I'm gonna go with Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr because I got to experience it in the moment and it exceeded my expectations.

Despite Benn vs Eubank 1 being a very good fight I've always thought the ending was a tad disappointing and a bit too quick of a stoppage.

So for that reason I'll go with the controversial opinion but I'm sure if I was born to experience the hype of the dad's fight then their fight probably would be better for me.

I’ll say last night. It’s rare you have a buildup like that for so long and then when fight night comes, the actual fight exceeds all expectations.

has there even been a second generation fight to exceed that? I know there was Ali-Frazier 4 (Ali won), but that was between daughters and mostly just a cash in. Even if Frazier was a decent fighter and Ali was a damn good one (I’m referring to the daughters)

I don’t know why, but Jr coming out to Simply the Best with Sr at his side made the whole thing for me. Had just cracked open a cold beer, a pizza from this NY style local joint had just been delivered, I was watching on a brand new OLED tv with my wife and daughter, and then the ring walk happened. Got me in the feels of a happy moment.

Eubank Sr`s win over Nigel was more impressive because Nigel was bette than Conor and punched harder, but because that fight wa so iconic it set this fight up perfectly and 67,000 fans meant it had a better atmosphere, so I`d lean towards last night fight being better.

The ending last night was much better but Benn was finished by the 9th and his eye was swollen shut.

Looks like a great scrap from the HL's. Eubank-Benn I looked to be contested at a higher skill level which I value more than most.

I will say the last round underlined a simple fact - these guys belong to different divisions. If you're the younger man by a good few years you shouldn't be getting bullied like that by a guy who's almost certainly past his best.

Both of the fathers were better than either of the sons. Neither son could beat either of the fathers. It isn’t even close, really.

Maybe but my main point is that Conor was far smaller than Nigel in terms of reach, he only had a 68 inch reach and is far less powerful than Nigel was who at the time was one of the best finishers in boxing.

Saturdays fight was great and by far exceeded my expectations. However it does not compare to their fathers fight. Both were better than their sons and it was unbelievable at times how much action there was.It was seen by 14 million on ITV on a sunday night and captured the whole nation

Lol this forum is so prone to recency bias that it's pathetic.

Their fathers' fight was far better and contested at a much higher skill level.

    These two are bums.

The fathers are twice the boxers the sons are. I recall the hype around the first fight as I was living in London at the time and the hype was incredible. There is way more entertainment out there now so this new bout didn't have the impact, really couldn't have the impact as the first one.

Steele stopped the fight early in the 1st fight, CEJ-Benn was a great war. CEJ - Benn gets the nod for me.

Their dads were more elite operators BUT I do think the fight on Saturday was a better fight than any of the three of their dads fights.
