I enjoyed Ward vs Kovalev 1 more I think it had more excitement with the dramatic knockdown and Ward having to try and make a desperate comeback late on.
Ward-Kovalev one was one of the top 10 fights of 2016.Beterbiev-Bivol was a good fight but I’ve seen many better this year.Fights like Tszyu-Fundora and Alvarez-Munguia were arguably as good or better than the fight last night in terms of action and they are not among the fights of 2024
Both excellent tactical fight, although Kovalev vs Ward 1 was more dramatic due to the early knockdown and Ward pushing himself to get back and fighting tooth and nail with a dangerous puncher. Although I enjoy that fight a bit more it still leaves a sour taste because of the end results, which was more egregious than Beterbiev vs Bivol.
