Kind of similar fighters. Big left hand vs big right hand.
Stevenson easy. He doesn’t look ****ing hammered every time he throws a jab
Stevenson has notable wins over Cloud, Dawson, Bellew, Fonfara, and Bika.
Wilder's notable wins are Luis Ortiz x2, Breazeale, Stiverne X2, Arreola, and Duhuapas. That's probably being generous to Wilder to consider a couple of them notable wins.
I think Stevenson is the better boxer of the two. Wilder is flawed but he also was never stopped by a journeyman even though the journeyman went through a murderer's row and had the tendency to perhaps upset the applecart. Stevenson righted a wrong by stopping Boone in a rematch.
Darnell Boone stopped Stevenson and arguably beat Kovalev in the first fight (supposedly) because the fight was not filmed apparently. Boone said he knocked Kovalev down.
Stevenson. Sucks we never got stevenson vs kovalev before both started to go down hill
Stevenson beat real opponents.
Stevenson was the better boxer as his resume suggests. Wilder was perhaps the better street fighter turned boxer, though he could never box.
Biggest travesty in the late 2010s. We missed a potential shootout for the undisputed LHW championship..
Stevenson had real skills and could actually box a whole fight like he did vs Cloud. There was technique to his style and he didn’t give up lose rounds like Wilder. Wilder on the other hand had god given power in his right hand and that was about it. He would lose multiple rounds in multiple fights but had that weapon that usually bailed him out of any situatuon
Stevenson fairly comfortably.
Nobody crushed cans like Wilder though.
Let me think what @Dubblechin would say.
"Wilder doesn't get knocked out by the Darnell Boones of the world. Wilder destroys them. Any time he faced a journeyman they lasted minutes, not rounds.
Wilder knocked out every man he faced apart from the world champion Tyson Fury, the best fighter in the whole of the sport, forget your P4P (LOL)
The same Tyson Fury that Wilder not only knocked down 4 times, but also had a successful defence of his heavyweight title against (Just like Johnson did against Johnson).
Wilder is spoke about by ATGs as a fellow ATG, Stevenson isn't spoke about full stop.
End this nonsense, when will you guys catch up"
That was actually quite fun (LOL)
Stevenson easily. Stevenson win over Bellew is far more impressive than anything Wilder has done.
Two punch bags.
They are very similar on paper, actually.
I vote Adonis as the better. I dont think its night and shoulders difference at all.
EDIT: "night and shoulders..." Ha. Night and day. Head and shoulders.
Wilder has some things about him that I don't think normally get appreciated at the level they are, because of all the eye-roll-inducing nonsense about his career, but that said, Stevenson is so clearly superior to me in what he did and how he did it that I don't even rate them near each other.
Stevenson could actually box very well when he opted for it. His piston jab, his pretty quick and fluid foot movement and his natural defensive reflexes seemed to benefit him greatly in the manner that he didn't take nearly as much punishment as Wilder would against his level of competition. Not only that, but his left hand was truly laser accurate and ridiculously dangerous throughout the full 12 rounds. His body punching was absolutely savage too and he almost never neglected it.
