Better fighter and who would win: Devin Haney or Meldrick Taylor

Taylor was better.

 

Speed skills that handspeed of Taylor a problem.

 

Taylor had faster hands and landed more shots, Haney just clinches a lot, but his overall size might be too much, close fight.

 

Taylor wins by continuously punching out of Haney's clinching forcing him to fight and busting him up. But if Richard Steele is assigned to the bout then I see a late stoppage by Steele with seconds left in the fight in favor of Haney.

 

Seriously? Haney is still developing and my answer may change with time. Taylor was a legit champ and tough fighter. So far, Haney has a long way to go to even get in the conversation with a guy like Taylor.

PS - Taylor would not have gone life and death with little Jojo Diaz and Kambosos would not have finished the fight on his feet against Taylor. At this stage, Haney has a steep hill to climb to be considered close to Taylor.

 

Haney is good but hasn`t done enough yet for me to think he would beat Taylor

 

Taylor is absolutely faster and generally more naturally talented. Haney is more defensively responsible and harder to hit.

 

Haney hasn't faced a DOG like Taylor.

 

Taylor is better, and, would win. Haney does not have the power to discourage Meldrick from his game plan. Faster hands, and, WAY busier.

Haney don’t have enough pop or the dog in him to beat & break Meldrick to a pulp the way say a Chávez did, because as we all saw that’s what it would have taken.
