    Hatton.

His two defeats were against the p4p kings.

He beat another top 10 p4p fighter in Castillo, beat other belt holders at 140, moved up to 147 and beat a belt holder and fought two p4p number 1s. What more was he to do?

Well beating an elite, great fighter would help. I mean he beat Castillo prettty good, I'll give him that. But lets be honest, we all knew JLC had nothing left going into that fight.

He tried against Mayweather and Pacquiao, he wasn't good enough but at least he gave it a shot you can't ask for more than that.

Honestly? I'll "try" against Mayweather and Manny and I'll loose BIg, does that make me great? Nope.

Great fighters win great fights. Hatton has never done this. In fact 2 out of 3 of his fights against "elite" fighters he was stopped with EASE. The other he had to wrestle his way to a victory.

He's not, nor was he ever a "great" fighter.

I never said he was great. But because he's not great is hardly a reason to have a go at him. Not many fighters could beat the two guys he lost to so it's no disgrace.

Its not just his two losses. Look at his last few wins. Even in victory he looks terrible.

I know, and it amazes me that they were able to find that many no frills cans to bring to Great Britain to match him up with. I said, "Denis Pederson? Who the hell is Denis Pederson?" I said, "What brand is he, Campbell's . . . Chunky?" Hatton's camp said, "No name brands, all no frills tomato cans. Just like we like 'em." I said, "Well can he box?" And Hatton's handlers jumped in and said, "He's a straight can, no additives or preservatives!" I said, "OK. Now I understand."

Then I asked, "WBU title, what the hell is that? Did Ricky make up his own strap?" Then his handlers told me that "the WBU belt stood for Won't Box Unless." I still didn't understand so they had to break it down for me. They said, and I quote, "See, our boy Ricky has this belt because unlike a real champion he won't box unless he's home, won't box unless he's facing a bum, and won't box unless he already knows the outcome." I said, "Oh, geez, now I understand."

Did you know that Denis Pederson started off his career 37-0? ****, he ended it 45-3. This goes to show that presented with the right amount of bums anybody can compile an impressive record.

That's name #35 on Ricky's résumé. It's not like Ricky was just adjus-ting* to a new weight or anything either. It was the same weight he had been at his entire career. Why fight exclusively bums that deep into your career?

As I've always stated on this forum Ricky was an overprotected fighter whose fanbase far exceeded his abilities. He fought a litany of bums exclusively in Europe for years and then left England to endure tough fights (he really lost to Collazzo) and losses while those championing his cause were labeling him a top p4p fighter. Not even close.

*Jesus Christ, this censorship is way too f'n much.
