haugan, just more skilled, creative and busier. many more entertaining fights and great opposition too.

I thought Hatton at his best was better than Haugen at his best, but Haugen stayed at the top level longer.

Haugen was a good fighter..I go no further than pointing out his deicion win over Jimmy Paul and his revenge victory over Pazienza. He was a smart, calculating, and disciplined fighter and I believe that he was better than Hatton.

I'd say about equal. Haugen was no doubt the better boxer, and would probably beat a Hatton style fighter in a p4p match up, but Hatton had his own strengths which allowed him to be effective.

tough one and good comparison. strangely, i agree with MAG, SS and Cobra. I think haugen had more skills but maybe ricky did more with what he was given? Haugen's "prime" probably did last a touch longer and they both logged wins over top notch opposition (zoo and camacho respectively)

I wouldn't expect Hatton to lose even once in a trilogy with Pazienza.

That's purely a styles thing, but I see what you're getting at.

Haugen was better. Better wins, better longevity, better skills.

Plus, he deserved the verdict against Paz the first time. Should've been two of three against him. Add Paul and Camacho to the list of pelts and it trumps Hatton.
