You should have made this a public poll my man. Anyone who votes Mugabi deserves to be publicly exposed.

Sorry, I haven't made a post and a poll in so long, I just wanted to do the poll correctly. Next time I will. Mugabi had a great fight with Marvin and some nice knockouts, but Duane Thomas and Terry Norris were not great fights for him.

Iran Barkley was a hell of a fighter. Mugabi was just a guy with a great chin who lost nearly all his big fights.

Mugabi definitely past his prime when he took on Norris and so was Barkley when he got sparked by Toney. But in their primes I would choose Barkley, not by much. Better overrall fighter, but Mugabi could punch.

I still remember all the electricity in the air for the Mugabi vs Hagler fight. The better fighter would be Barkley. Just with those two wins over Hearns tops any fight he has won.

I would think there would be no competition. A 3 time champion vs. a one time champion in Mugabi.

Masses of respect for Barkley (respect to for Mugabi) the man just kept on coming back, you thought he was done but he'd find himself fighting the best out there. The guy seems to have paid for being in the ring with massive punchers.

Damn everyone underestimating Mugabi. This guy was a ko monster when Hagler fought him. He was never the same after Hagler but believe it or not, so was Hagler. I grew up watching Barkley from Da Bronx! He was really just a lovavble guy barely above journeyman status. But after that fairy tale win over Hearns it made him a star, but he didnt do much winning in big fights either. And hes just an all out brawler and had a lot of heart. I really cant recall him winning alot of important fights. Maybe against Michael Jackson ummm Olaijide lol.

On the other hand, Mugabi is more a fighter in the mold of Julian Jackson. He is a stalker with good boxing skills, he jabbed well and really had a murderous right hand. Just watch the guy.

Barkley, on the basis that he was better for longer.

    But that Hagler-Mugabi fight ... Damn ...

I always thought the opposition of Barkley and his competitiveness made him much better than Mugabi. I thought this would be a Barkley easy win on the poll. Barkley fought Hearns,Duran,Nunn,Benn,Kinchen,Olajide,Sims,Kalambay,Maske,Van Horn,Toney and on and on.. Mugabi I thought caught Hagler on an off night. Hagler had been inactive for a year since the Hearns fight, and after Hearns didn't seem to want to fight anymore. I think he reached a peak with Tommy and didn't have it anymore. He looked rusty with Mugabi. I think a sharp Hagler would stop Mugabi just as easy and Duane Thomas did.

Too many people dismiss Mugabi because of his post-Hagler career.

Mugabi and Hagler both had to be hospitalized after their fight. It was one of the most brutal fights I've ever seen. For five rounds Mugabi was boxing beautifully and landing bombs on the iron chinned Hagler.

Mugabi was never the same after that fight. He took too much damage.

If Barkley faced the same Mugabi that Hagler did I don't think he would have seen the 6th round.
