How many fighters has that actually worked for? CroCop, for a short period of time? Cain is my choice, he is just a machine who can win fights in a lot more ways. Both are current and future stars, but in a head to head match Cain is much closer in the striking department than Cigano is in the ground game. Against other opposition it is a case to case situation, but Cain has the edge over more opponents because there are fighters capable of both landing a KO and of taking him down, whereas Cain really only has Lesnar capable of taking him down, although a few might be able to sub him, but only a very select few like Werdum or Mir.
Not impossible; Fedor's standup has only reached the elite level it is at now in recent years, there may be some wholes that we haven't seen yet. While Fedor has been immune to the rapidly changing contenders, that doesn't mean it will always be that way. Do I think JDS would stand a realistic chance to beat Fedor? No. Do I think he is even in the top group of fighters who could give Fedor his best fight? No. Do I think if the whole fight was standing that his odds go up exponentially and he has the power and ability to do it? Absolutely.
Well ive seen more of Cain in terms of being well rounded we have seen good standup, great wrestling, good GNP and incredible cardio. In 5 fights what we seen is Dos Santos just killing people quickly with his hands or breaking them down like he did with Cro Cop. Id pick JDS in the fight though Cain might get some takedowns but JDS is so hard to keep down and Velasquez has difficulty finishing on the ground. If this stays standing its only a matter of time being JDS scores yet another KO. Cain has good standup but has defensive wholes and IMO will eat to many clean and hard shots and be stopped violently.
I wouldn't say he has trouble finishing on the ground; he didn't GnP Kongo to a stoppage, but most don't. He was the first to KO Nog on the ground, and he did it with some ****ing brutality.
:huh Cain dropped him and finished him with a couple of follow up shots that was the same thing Frank Mir did.
