This is more competitive than Qawi-Norton IMO. Leaning Hatton off-hand but might have to re-watch McGuigan to give a formal opinion. It’s been a few years.
Gun to my head - Hatton, but its close. Best wins - Hatton beating Tszyu (? possibly) and for McGuigan - probably Pedroza. Laporte was also a great win. I liked Juan Laporte as a fighter. Actually now that I've written this I may have flipped back to McGuigan....
Both of their best wins are against great champions past their best in Pedroza and Tszyu. But I think Hatton has more filler to his record so I'll go with Hatton for resume but regarding H2H ability at their best not much in it IMO.
I agree,Fergy. Barry was better at slipping shots than Ricky. Have you been watching McGuigan on 'I'm A Celebrity'?
He's coming over really well. I'm not a big fan of the show either but I'll always watch it if somebody I like is in it - as with Barry this year.
Barry's career has something of a "what might've been?" element to it IMO, given the way it abruptly fell apart after the Cruz fiasco. My feeling is that Barry was, at heart, a better fighter than Hatton, but Hatton ended up being a bit more accomplished by competing @the top level a bit longer & winning a title in a 2nd division.
