You've got at least one man here concurring with you mate, it's one of the best analogies describing Sanchez that I've read in eons. The aura he gave off was the antithesis of the vibes that men like Tyson projected. Although I suppose that the most obvious comparison to make would be to Monzon, even that doesn't really - to me, at least - encapsulate Sanchez's presence nor his relaxed omniscience; there was something unique about him, like the eye of a storm almost. I don't think he needed the dead-behind-the-eyes trait that Monzon possessed despite both of them having Terminator-like qualities. In fact, I might even say that he had something of Saldivar about him regardless of being an entirely different fighter in terms of physiology and style.

Well said Tin. It must have been a heavy psychological load for fighters to carry when they landed their best shots on Sanchez, only to have him continue along his way as if nothing ever happened. It discouraged me just as an onlooker!

I don't think Sanchez would've looked quite as unflappable were he in the ring with a Monzon type, either. The only times I ever saw Napoles look discouraged otherwise were when he was cut. That was his one true weakness.

    I'd probably agree with that.

Sanchez was probably the most stoic fighter of all time.

Ohba was similar to sanchez in that respect imo, though his chin obviously was much more dentable.

I'll give the edge to Napoles very slightly.

I wouldn't want to live on the difference between them.

    Two absolutely fantastic fighters.

Two of my absolute favorites ever. I’ll give an edge to Napoles as I think his smoother style showed a better, more complete offense and defense. Better with the hook, more precise etc; Sanchez had some intangibles that are up there with the absolute greatest though IMO.

If Manny could easily outbox Margaroto what would a master boxer like Napoles have done to him?

No he didn`t stop many fighters at welter and Napoles was far harder to hit than Hatton and did much better at middle against Monzon than Floyd would have, do you think Floyd would have stopped Sanchez wityh the check hook at super-feather?
