I'm not saying who would win if they fight

Who is the better fighter today?

Hatton at 140 or Shane at 147?

    thanks for voting

Shane Mosley. I don't believe there's much debate here.

well at this point ring mag has Hatton in the top10 and not Mosley.

Also Shane is 37 years old

I still think Shane is twice the fighter.

    Today?

    Hatton.

Sugar Shane is all but done. Margo will be putting the fork in him early next year.

    In their prime?

Sugar Shane by quite a distance.

Hatton, he is still dominating at 140, Shane is looking shot to pieces and I predict a career ending, possibly life threatening beat down against Margarito.

I believe I missunderstood your post. You just said Mosley at 147. I assmumed you meant when he was at his best. If you're talking about right now, it's a tougher debate. Regardless, I still believe that Shane is a better fighter than Hatton. Furthermore, I have no idea why Hatton is rated as a top 10 fighter p4p. Guys like Williams, Dawson, and Wlad aren't in the top 10 according to Ring Magazine. However, it's pretty clear that they are all better fighters than Hatton.

Currently Hatton - it is not even up for debate.

Prime - only one winner, Sugar Shane

shane mosley because of speed (he still has it, maybe diminished a bit)

ricky hatton because of his physical conditioning and youth

    i voted for ricky

Right now Hatton is better but Mosley is better prime for prime.

Shane would still have a very good chance of beating Hatton at 147 right now though.

It's definately up for debate. Hatton has built up his name off of very questionable comp. He has been very carefully matched for pretty much his whole career. The same can't be said for Shane, even at 37. Hatton has another chance to show what he's made of against Pac. If he can't get the job done, it will raise even more questions about him and his talent level.

i agree. Even comparing their fights only from 2005 to today, which includes Hatton's win over Tszyu, I think Mosley is better

He's also been fighting longer than those two. Having a better resum than someone doesn't mean that you are a better fighter than them. And Hatton's resume isn't much better than Dawson's.

No it won't, it simply means that he got beat by the best p4p boxer in the world. Losing to pac does not mean that Hatton is a Fraud, a bum or whatever he will be called on here. He could have easily stayed undefeated and not took on the likes of Floyd, and Pac...
