He defeated Yuri Arbachakov, one of the better flyweight technicians I've ever seen. And Sasakul was a wonderful little boxer as well. Very skilled and crafty. Definitely better than any fighter currently campaigning at flyweight. And at the time Hernandez beat Nelson, Nelson, by no means, was a truly great fighter. Although solid, his best days had come and gone.

Watch some of Chatchai's fights. He was much, much better than you think he was. Boxrec doesn't do him, and many other fighters, justice.

Miguel Canto was 5-0. Are you going to dismiss a person's greatness based solely off of their height? Pacquiao did look gigantic against him and also looked poor throughout a good chunk of the Sasakul fight. That's why I voted for Mayweather in this thread. He simply had a more dominant and technically solid performance than Manny did.

    I see what you're saying.

But a past his best Azumah nelson is better then any fighter campaigning at flyweight at the time. You cant discount the fact that there is very little money or exposure in those divisions, so the talent pool is not going to be great. Pacquiao with his physical gifts should be expected to blast those guys out of the ring.

Mayweather had the better performance against a better class of fighter. Hernandez was one of the better technical fighters around at the time. When against Oscar he was not out of his depth. Against Floyd he looked like a finished fighter.

True in some eras, such as the current one, among others. False when talking about other lighter-weight eras. You can't always deal in absolutes with this.

Definitely don't consider Pac's performance to be great though. Floyd has him beat by miles there and was simply a much better fighter than Pac was when they won their first titles.

Trained by who? ****ing Buboy? Pac would be lucky to eat something really good when he was training. At that time he doesn't even know what's a protein isolate. Everything PAC uses equipment methods etc are from the Jurrasic period while Floyd was using state of the art facility and being monitored by the US Olympic committee. :patsch

Sasakul is a better win. Simply because he was the lineal champion when Manny beat him and nobody's thought he would win that time. He's more like a cannon fodder that time and he just did the unexpected.
