Better Footwork: Calzaghe or Hatton?

Though that say's more about how good Conteh was than flaws with Calzaghe an Hatton.

The Napolese/Conteh comparison is one I've always agreed with.

 

not even close , hatton has quicker feet , but squares up too much leaving himself too much of a target , Calzaghe on the other hand is really smooth and can fight going backwards , to be able to do this you need excellent foot work. Calzaghe by a long way.

 

Just because the man cannot fight on the backfoot does not mean he doesnt have good footwork.

An example can be made with Tyson. Great fighter, great footwork, but you would never see him on the backfoot jabbing away, that doesnt mean he is ****, just thats not the way the man can fight

BUT, watch Hatton v Tackie. Hatton fought the fight on the backfoot at times and his footwork was great that night.

As for the two fighters. Calzaghe is the better fighter, but Hatton does have the better footwork.

 

Calzaghe has footwork that is head and shoulders above Hatton...:good

 

Hatton's footwork was very good, surprised at the the results of the poll and comments in this thread tbh.

 

Calaghe easily, just take a look at their faces for a start.
