What would be better for Floyds legacy a win over Pac at welter or a win over Martinez at middle? Don't give me no bull**** about who's scared of who or PED **** blah blah. What would be better for legacy? Plain and simple and why?

Martinez, tru boxing fans and people who do historical rankings understand the significance of that kind of victory.

Only people who would look upon beating mannny as a greater feat are either people that hate manny and casual fans. It's not casuals who write the prizefighting history books though.

In my opinion beating Manny would be much better for his legacy. Manny is gonna go down as a high ranking ATG, I don't think Martinez will ever make the ATG list. Although I think that Martinez will be a tougher fight for Floyd.

The Pac fight would be bigger. But as Boxed Ears touched on, for who? Casual's and aficionado's alike can all agree that Pac is the BIGGER fight. But the tougher fight IMO harbours the best boost to your legacy and that's the Martinez fight. In the end though the question would be, will historians treasure the bigger fight or the tougher fight. Would historians take into account the circumstances surrounding these fights? or would they just look at the obvious? The obvious being Pac is an ATG, and the popularity of the even.

Well, Martinez is so dangerous as of now that no one even wants to touch him with a 10 ft stick.

If Floyd whoops Martinez and retires, he has fulfilled his "promise". Will it **** off the superficial in the moment casuals? Yep, but he wouldn't be Floyd if he didn't make the majority angry. He can't wait around forever for an ignorant statement retracting congressman.

hagler vs hearn = atg vs atg
hagler vs mugabi = atg vs a dangerous opponent
floyd vs pac = atg vs atg
floyd vs martinez =atg vs dagerous fighter

now you decide which is better for his legacy
    pretty obvious right?

good point. but Mugabi wasn't nearly as dangerous to Hagler as Martinez is to Floyd. Hearns is also a more dangerous fight than Mugabi.

yeah i get your point.. but what i am refering to is form an atg standpoint.
a win with an atg will go down as one of the best in your resume no matter what...

I agree. As far as legacy goes, that's usually painted by the historians/aficionado's of the sport, which most can tell a more dangerous fight when they see it.

So Manny is NOT a dangerous fight? Why do you think Mayweather is....ahhhh never mind.
