I think you could pick Harada here, red btw.Just depends on what you look for and favour in a jab.

In that sense, when he was in full flow you could maybe justify picking it over almost any pure boxer's imo, it was that well integrated into his style. But looking at it as a weapon in itself it probably falls short of a fair few more traditional jabbing fighters.

That's kinda what I was thinking. It really doesn't matter who has the better jab- can that sort of jab that Harada uses (distracting, defense penetrating, range reducing) be as 'good' as the type of jab Kalmbay uses (point scoring, creating range, a defensive weapon).

As an important ingredient for a successful pressure fighter\swarmer compared to a pure boxer\mid range boxer puncher sort, yeah i think it can.Doesn't really matter if in the end the pressure fighter might be the more ****ed of the two if they can only use their lead hand and have to do a Virgil hill.

it's a shame so few pressure fighters really develop a great jab that works for their style.Always great when you see one coming through that has that kind of thing down

For Harada to have bedazzled a great fighter like Jofre with the jab...taking in consideration that he was a short guy with the usual reach deficit that short guys have is even more impressive than what the hipster favorite Kalambay with his sleeker physique and longer arms was able to accomplish.

The thing is he did most of his best work with it early(as in genuinely using it to outbox jofre, not just his usual excellent use of it as a tool to get in close), when the drained Jofre was looking slow as hell and genuinely like a washed up fighter at times.A lot of Bantam's could have outjabbed Jofre in those rounds, in their own way.

Once Jofre warmed up, recovered from being hurt and started to motor after the early rounds it was nowhere near as effective.Nor was it much of a factor in the second fight either.

I love harada but let's not pretend he put a jabbing showcase on a peak Jofre.
