If nothing else, Hearns was a huge man compared to Duran. Pacman is actually bigger than Marquez.

Pac seemed to be down longer too.

Had Duran come even remotely close to being stopped or knocked out prior to fighting Hearns though? I think Duran was a more durable and better fighter than Pacquiao, even at that weight, and that's why I consider that to be a more impressive stoppage. Nobody did that to Duran, not before or after.

The hearns shot was just incredible. Although the result of the Pac-Marquez fight ended up more brutal the punch just didn't look as good

Hearns knocking out Duran felt more like Hearns just taking care of business to be honest.

Marquez knocking out Pacquiao was more dramatic and was in a much more competitive fight, so that gets my vote.

JMM is so fresh that may seem like a natural choice, but like someone said earlier no ever did that Duran . . . before or after.

that's true, I was 3 years old when Hearns KO'd Duran, so I have no idea of the shock of a KO like that to Duran would be like.

I think Hearns/Duran just because Tommy landed a punch in the end which would have knocked out anyone had it landed like that.

The man had just completed 15 rounds with Marvin Hagler at 160lbs. Not only did he avoid getting stopped, but he actually remained very competitive throughout. Hearns was a monster puncher so nobody was going to completely rule it out, but Duran just wasn't a man you stopped. Hearns didn't just stop him, he poleaxed him. This is a guy who would fight on and on, and yet nobody ever did that to him. Even when he was a shot and broken mess.

Hearns. He whopped his ass hard and crushed him so hard he did not get out of the ring, but he slumped to Tommy's direction! Only if Duran could survive the early rounds... Hearns had stamina issues.

Both of those pics would have been so much better had the ref not been in
    the middle of the action.
