Being a fan of both I know Tua has alot more respect than Morrison but I actually think Morrisons hook was more compact , precise and quicker. As a sidenote we are not talking chins here!

Yeah I know Tommys white and got that whole white hope label and was in one of the shittiest Rocky movies but damn he had one hell of a left hook. His right uppercut was pretty wicked too. Morrison made for exciting boxing though win or lose. You kinda had the thought it could go either way.

Tommy sure had a vicious left hook, as did Tua. If Tommy could relive his prime in the present he would certainly hold at least 1 of the HW belts. Prime Tommy vs. Prime Wlad would be a great fight. Prime Tommy would beat Valuev and give Vitali a good run before getting KO'ed.

I think overall that Tommy had a slightly superior hook in his prime. However, I wouldn't want to get hit by either guy's hook (even today). ;-)

Morrison was tough but struggled against everyone that was above journeymen level. He would find himself on the canvas plenty today, just like he was in the 90s. He'd KO some top shelf fighters but would get knocked out himself a few times.

I completely agree with you. That's what would make him exciting. Though his chin wasn't great, his heart actually wasn't too bad. He did get off the canvas a few times!

Reminds me a bit of Wlad in that sense. And I enjoy watching Wlad fight, because his fights don't often go to boring 12 round decisions. (and even if they do, you never know until the last second)

Tua's best punch was an overhand right. It allowed him to cut the distance and it was thudding. Morrison's left hook may have been the best in the business.

I think you bring up a great topic, but I would like to point out, Morrison did go down alot like Wlad, the only difference was, Morrison wasnt afraid of going toe to toe with his oppenents, and always believed his power would prevail, aside from his fight against Foreman in 93, Tommy was always the aggressor, and was always coming forward. Wlad on the other hand prides himself on being the bully and when the going gets tough, Wlad melts like a icecream cone 9 times out of 10. Morrison has came back and won or made it through tough fights, suffering a broken jaw early in his fight against Hipp or when he was dropped by the devastating puncher in Ruddick, and still managed to continue and found a way to land the left hook that knocked Razor out.

Tua and Morrison both have amazing left hooks, while Tua's may be more powerful, Morrison's was just picture perfect.
