While bhop leaves a better legacy than floyd, floyd also leaves his own legacy, a legacy of cherry picking of opponents.
Hopkins will be always be higher on the ATG list, floyd will probably be talked about for longer though I expect.
That's not Floyd's fault, he's favored over everyone. Take Danny Garcia for example, people expected him to lose damn near every fight and he gets **** on constantly and is now labeled a cherry picker after taking a soft touch. People pick and choose who they want to play the underdog card with.
I gotta go with Hopkins. Fights everyone regardless, and still fighting at a high level at 49 years old.
Bernard Hopkins is the most Overrated athlete I've ever seen. Comparing him to Mayweather? is lunacy. His middleweight run is great, although he never really beat anybody that great during it. He lost clearly and widely to RJJ in their primes. He lost twice to Jermain Taylor. He lost to Calzaghe He lost to Dawson His greatest wins are against 2 former WW's, and Antonio Tarver who was more concerned with acting.
its true his best wins were guys moving up for the most part. Most of Mayweather's best wins were with him moving up
Even with 7 losses compared to Floyd who has no losses (Officially) . B hop has the superior legacy . His resume and accomplishments is just too overwhelming .
Could you imagine what would be said about Floyd's legacy if he was beaten twice and chased out of his weight class by a guy that went on to go 3-4-1 in his next 8 fights, being knocked out 3 times?
Who wins in the battle of the drainelo rematch:think Think our pal corpse jr could pull it off again:think
All Mayweather has really going for him is his undefeated record but did not fight the best in their primes or when the Welterweight division was hot.
http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/boxingchronicle/articles_floydbogus.html Floyd's legacy There was only one problem with Floyd Mayweather's unanimous decision victory over WBC lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo: Pretty Boy Floyd lost the fight. Despite the fact that Castillo landed the cleaner, harder punches, swept the championship rounds, and set the pace of the entire bout, three blind judges incredulously handed Mayweather his 29th straight victory... and Castillo's championship belt. Luckily, the WBC-approved officials have no jurisdiction over the mythical pound-for-pound list, a list that no longer includes Mayweather's name.
