Now, I know some people will freak out because John fights at a lower weight class that is not very attractive.

John is 48-0 and has been WBA champ for many years at featherweight.

Calzaghe is 46-0 and undisputed champ at Super Middleweight and champ at Light Heavyweight.

John has a few controversial decisions I believe, never saw the Marquez fight though and I don't know too much about him.

Calzaghe doesn't really have a controversial one. Some ppl think Hopkins won but that is a minority (see polls, posts, scorecards, etc.) The Reid fight was not controversial, idiots who hate Calzaghe look back and see "SD" and think automatic loss.

    Discuss.

I too would favor Calzaghe seeing as he has some big names like Hop, Kessler, Eubank, Jones, Lacy, etc.

But John has a great streak

What kind of argument is that? That's like saying "I like Hopkins, but Calzaghe won that." Who cares?

Many Americans had the fight for Calzaghe. 3 American judges, American ref, in America. Calzaghe outlanded and threw Hopkins by a ridiculous margin. Close fight but Calzaghe won it. Stop being bitter. You're probably black and can't stand how Hopkins made himself look silly with the whiteboy comments.

They might be even now but John still has chances to better his legacy. He's going for 49-0 this coming April 20.

Look doyle, whilst I agree with you 100% on the irrefutable fact that fake faces exist in boxing, the post above is somewhat controversial; John's win over Manlover Marquez appears to be universally viewed as a legitimately bad decision*, while at least 75% of transnational voters agree that Calzaghe's slapping and bumming of Popkins [the boxer, not the **** poster] was enough to earn him a deserved win.

*not that I've ever personally bothered to watch John vs Manlover

This. The people who say Hopkins won that fight are either:

    a) blind
    b) black (pissed that a "whiteboy" beat a cocky black man)
    c) hate Calzaghe
    d) made an honest mistake and favored Hopkins

Joe has an edge at the moment for he moved up and beat 2 40 yr old legends.

John has beat a younger legend in Marquez but still hasn't tested a heavier weight class.

    this is a serious question?

and some of these comments are like... WTF!

    Calzaghe! not even remotely close.

will those who picked John shoot themselves in the face? or just never post on a boxing forum again? Thanks.

not boxed, though... i actually like him. but you can at least give yourself a slap and a good talking to.
