Well, jumping up to become undisputed SMW champ does make this suddenly a far more interesting conversation.

Both would be fighting the best fighter they had fought. But Mayweather's skill is supreme. Crawford's not dealt with anything in that realm. Things change when you can't land a glove.

Like who? Many were saying Canelo was not in his prime going into this fight. Many say Spence was never the same after the car accident. Porter retired after losing to Crawford. Khan was past his prime. Brook was past his prime. I'm trying to think of the top fighters who were in their primes that Bud beat.

You consider those guys top fighters? If that's the case then so is Corrales, Castillo, Judah, Baldomir, Hatton, etc. So Floyd has beaten prime fighters too.

Is obviously a joke haha, I think Floyd's resume is levels above Crawford's. Burns and Postol should have been a giveaway but I guess Crawford fans have been so delusional that my comment seemed serious. He hasn't beat any top guy in their prime, post-accident Spence and shopworn Canelo look fancy on his record but they were very clearly out of their primes by the time those fights took place.

Both excellent fighters but Floyd a tier above, only Usyk can credibly claim to be on the same level right now.

It's not close. Imagine what Floyd would have done to this pedestrian well past prime 4 year KO drought Clenelo. He would win every round with ease and land at will with clean eye catching stinging shots

My bad lol. I did think you were but you never know for certain on the internet lol. I agree with you. If Crawford had more/better names it would be a serious discussion for me. But that resume in terms of names is not great. His accolades are great (3x undisputed, 5 division champion, undefeated) but when people look back at legacy, it always comes back to the names.

Not his fault he fought in a weak era but definitely detracts from his accomplishments some (kind of like Wlad). I mean his undisputed fight was against Indongo... Definitely understand if he decides to retire after this, but if Crawford racks up some more big wins against guys who could be future P4P material, it would help his case a lot more when we look back at his career in a few decades.

I do think Mayweather beats him head to head though, just too sharp, too smart, too fast. Him and RJJ are the two guys in recent memory who were just on a completely different level.

For sure. No doubt about it. But he is getting older. I would be surprised if he tries to become undisputed at 154 since he would have to take more fights. I think he either retires or fights Canelo again. But it seemed like Canelo didn't want to fight him again lol. He may sit and wait on what other fighters do. If an opportunity presents itself (undisputed again), he may take it.

I have always thought Floyd wins. I think Crawford benefits heavily from fighting fighters who don't move their head. He makes everyone pay for that and did it to Canelo many times. Floyd moves his head. I think Crawford benefits from not fighting anyone who is faster than him. That's how Gamboa gave him problems. Floyd is not going to be there for those counters that Bud likes to land. It would be a good fight but I ultimately think he would get out boxed. Floyd would bring too much to the table with how he varies his attacks, his speed, defense and footwork.

Without giving it deep thought, and going by my p4p greatness criteria, over the past 30 yearsI would ran Bud at 4.

How many catchweights Bud have? How many rehydration clauses Bud have? How many fights Bud pick opponent gloves?

"Okay then" in Roger Mayweather voice. Bud career > Floyd career
